Not in the class of other Marriott Vacation Club resorts
On the plus side the units are clean and well provided with excellent sheets, towels, tp, etc. also the front desk people are very good and helpful. The location is fine…away from the village but the shuttle every 30 minutes works great and walking back along the stream is beautiful..
The units themselves are poorly designed….we had the two bedroom plus loft….no real master bedroom or bath…one bedroom downstairs with a bath and another bathroom right next to it….then upstairs are the other beds and you have to walk thru the loft bedroom to get to a large bedroom….one bathroom for both rooms. Also no laundry in the units.
I suspect Marriott bought this place because other Vacation Club units have been spectacular….I will be more careful on my exchanges in the future.
Absolutely no customer service.
I’ve been an owner of Marriott Vacation club for decades.
I was excited to experience this property for the first time, yet my trip turned into a complete disappointment. There is literally no customer service at this hotel what so ever. Forget the dingy interiors that have not been updated since the 90’s. I spent a fortune for a package to be shipped overnight to me while on property. According to UPS the package arrived as expected, and was signed for by Cole at the front Desk.
Upon arriving back at the hotel that day, I was told by the very same Cole the package did not arrive. I spent three days bouncing back between calls from UPS and the Front Design trying to locate this package. I was told MANY times I would be contacted by the hotel manager to discus the situation. I’m back in New York now – still waiting for contact.
The package miraculously showed up the day I was checking out, and THE PACKAGE EVEN HAD OUR ROOM NUMBER LISTED ON IT. The incompetence of the customer service at this hotel is absolutely a joke. And still no word from the manager of the hotel. So I email back the representative who was trying to get me to go to a sales meeting to buy more Marriott – Zach Hendry for assistance.
After a few of my emails go ignored, I then learn Zach isn’t even on property. I email several more times for assistance, and was simply told my emails were ‘passed along to management”. Do not stay at this property, and by no means BUY anything Marriott vacation points. Once then have your money, they can;t even return an email or address a simple concern about a misplaced package.
Marriott’s version of Motel 6
Long time MVC executive level owners. Have stayed at Park City numerous times and love it. I had been looking forward for years to spending a quiet week in the mountains, instead I got a Motel-6 experience; traffic noise day and night right next to my room. No air conditioning so the windows had to stay open.
They say they have a kids room, but there was nothing in there to do unless there is a scheduled activity, maybe once a day.
The pool is a tiny combination indoor outdoor. Indoor where it is shallow enough for the kids was like a sauna, and outdoors where it was cooler was 9′ deep too deep for little ones, I had a 6 and 10 year old with me.
When we checked in they neglected to give us a parking pass, neglected to tell us the WiFi information, although it’s the same at all Marriotts, we basically had to interview the desk crew to get the information about the resort.
I am very disappointed that I have wasted my Vacation points this way.
Great Potential - Bad Execution
Although this hotel has great potential – location, facilities, shuttle service – we experienced chronic failure.
I stayed for a couple of nights with my family. We loved the location, including the ability to get on the stream side bike path with access to Douglas Park. However, the failures started immediately; our keys couldn’t unlock our door for the room.
Their maintenance staff was friendly but ultimately couldn’t fix the lock. So we had to move rooms late in the evening, once we returned from town.
That led to getting the family settled late including not looking at the bed until late. The sheets were stained with hair on them – obviously not cleaned. We found numerous nails and small metal objects on the floor from a recent renovation. Again, the room hadn’t been cleaned properly.
The room itself was great – just dirty. We bought a s’mores kit from the front for our kids. Everything was incredibly stale. Then we went to the Cave, which has a ping pong table. But the table was lopsided, there was only one ball, and the ball was split in half – so it was useless.
Beware of the maid service too. It costs money but they will just stop by to perform cleaning service without advertising the fee. I would not recommend this business to anybody – explore the numerous other lodging options in Vail.
Not the hotel we thought we were at
Vail was a one night overnight stop on our trip west. We were booked at the Marriott Mountain hotel…or rather we weren’t. They re-directed us a couple of miles down the road to what appears to be a timeshare resort. We had been allocated a self-catering unit, which was comfortable enough for an overnight stay, but I imagine is really intended for ski parties through the winter season.
