There has been a huge increase in timeshare termination enquiries and complaints from customers with Holiday Inn timeshares. Some of the reasons for the timeshare owners at this report wanting to cancel their timeshare were given as high maintenance fees, aggressive sales people saying anything to get the sale and the resort owners ending up with timeshare agreement in perpetuity meaning that their heirs inherit the debt and the liability that goes with the timeshare even after the death of the resort owners.
Disappointed
Being British may cloud our view but the whole experience of staying at this ‘resort’ was disappointing.To begin with, our apartment was outstanding, a three bedroom apartment for just the two of us gave us more space than we really needed at a level that was excellent. From that point on there are little positives. Renovation work was taking place so every morning about 7.30 painters were setting up equipment to paint the outside of the building including the front of our apartment. This also rendered the pool out of action as they were working directly above it. There was no restaurant, the inside bar was closed and as the hotel was slightly out of the way you had to drive to eat.There is a shuttle service to the beach which we made use of but never again.
The person who dropped us off left us with a number to phone when we needed to be picked up. When we came to go back to the hotel we got no response and even when some helpful locals used their phone they couldn’t get a response. Luckily the hotel coach had a stop further up the street so we were able to get back to the hotel.
The staff were helpful and very friendly which was a pity when the hotel had shortcomings. Once again why do the management not warn you when you are booking that renovations will be taking place and why do they insist on charging full rate when there are limited facilities???
We were glad to move on to our rented accommodation at Indian Rocks.

Nice resort but not convenient.
Pretty Hotel but Wouldn’t Book Again
However, the resort seems to cater only to families with small children. Or people who go to bed by 9 p.m. on vacation. There’s a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the beach, and while it was always quick and timely, the shuttle doesn’t run past 4:30 p.m. Also, the outdoor pool/hot tub and games room close by 10 p.m. — and they’re pretty strict about this. So if you’re looking for fun things to do (like sit in the hot tub for a little post-dinner relaxing or challenging siblings to a ping-pong game), either get everything in by 10 p.m. or stay at an actual resort that doesn’t shut down completely after nightfall.
Spacious suites, TERRIBLE service.
That being said, if you are travelling with a family and are looking for a non-solicitous place to stay (which we often are), I would recommend this hotel.
Just don’t expect ANY service.
