Stayed as a hotel guest, overall good experience for a non-owner

I booked this location due to its proximity to shopping and restaurants as well as the villa amenities. We are not owners so I read the cautions about the timeshare sales pitch before we arrived. Here is a breakdown of our experiences from a non-owner perspective.

Check in- fast and easy. They placed a $530 hold on our credit card. We got a villa in building four with easy access to the lobby elevators. The lobby smells so good. Nice to arrive to that after flying and being in airports.

Room – great view, very clean. We got a handicap accessible room which meant a very large bathroom. The linens were plentiful and in very good condition. Having a washer and dryer was so nice! They provide one bottle of laundry soap. The kitchen has all the supplies you need. We skipped room service the entire stay and washed our own towels, etc. no security concerns at all.

Pool – amazing! It has two levels of infinity ledges. We were there in late February and opted for the quieter portion toward the main building. The water was clean and constantly maintained and did not smell like chlorine. Children were well behaved and supervised. Guests were very subdued. Great way to spend the afternoon.

Beach – beautiful stretch of beach. Very clean and maintained. The water was very rough during our stay and the beach was closed a couple of days. Minimal seaweed.

Security- the safe is large enough for phones, passports, wallets, jewellery, etc. not sure about an iPad as I did not bring mine. Not large enough for a laptop.

Dining – did not visit any restaurants but the Starbucks in the lower level turns out good coffee.

Spa – did not have any spa services.

We really did not get hassled about buying a timeshare except for the parking lot attendant who approached us twice with some tricky line about time share scams elsewhere and theirs was the real deal. We just walked away.

We found the things that minimized being time-shared were to avoid the lobby, do not contact the concierge, unplug the room phone, avoid free gifts, coupons, vouchers for anything, and use the side entrance and exit.

Check out – we had an early flight and checked out at 315am. The desk staff was right there, helpful as ever. Fast check out and made to the airport earlier than expected.

This is a beautiful property with really nice people.
