The Wyndham Palm Aire is in need of modernization and updating. Furniture, paint and carpeting in the units and hallways seem to be from the 1980’s. I exchanged my Wyndham points to RCI. Using RCI costs too much ($239) in addition to the high monthly maintenance form Wyndham! Rip off
Frustrated with Wyndham
I have always loved this hotel and find them accommodating. However, I am disappointed in how they are handling my refund.
They cancelled our reservation due to hurricane damage a month before my arrival. Understandable but we had to scramble to find a hotel for the holidays. We end up staying further away than we wanted but it was the best we could do.
Anyway, they cancelled 10/21/17. I was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get a refund my deposit by check because they cannot refund to my card. Really, 4 to 6 weeks for a check! Ok, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Thanksgiving came and still no refund check. I called on 11/26 and the attendant assured me that the check was issued that day (10/21). Ok. I called again today on 12/19. Now I was told that the check went out on 11/26, the day I called and it would take 4 to 6 weeks.
Really. You have my information, why not just take my credit card and refund me my deposit. How long does it take to mail a check.
I am frustrated with Wyndham and its looking like my trip for 2018 may be at another hotel.
Required Sales pitch for purchased package
My wife’s cousin had purchased a vacation package with an overnight cruise (out and back) and a one week stay at the Wyndham Vista resort in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. So far so good. This was done weeks in advance of the vacation date.
Upon arriving at the hotel we/they were staying at in Pompano Beach, we were informed that we had to sit through a 2 hour sales presentation just to get the cruise boarding pass and the resort voucher. HUH? this package was paid for in cash months ago, why the sales pitch to get what was paid for?
We tried to avoid the sales pitch, but were told by the sales drone that we had to listen for 2 hours. Again we tried to get out of it but were told that the meeting was over when HE said it was over. This genius then proceeded to denigrate, put down, and insult the family for buying such a package.
He further informed us that he was used to dealing with more high end/expensive dealings. SAY WHAT? His comments and attitude brought my wife’s cousin to tears. She and her husband have work hard for several years to pay for this vacation, only to be insulted.
We called an end to this foolishness and called the manager. We finally got the vouchers we needed.
I will never stay at the Wyndham Palm Air again. I am an owner at Wyndham Sea Gardens and love it there. It is a shame that Wyndham has let this happen. After this experience, my wife and I will NEVER sit through these presentations again, regardless of the facility.
Awful Outcome - BEWARE
We recently stayed at Wyndham Palm Aire and have been thoroughly upset by an incident on the property! The landscapers cracked our windshield when they were weed-eating/mowing. There is absolutely NO DOUBT that is what occurred and can accurately provide the timeline etc. They have treated us horribly and with great disrespect. Their insurance company has been the same way – curt, accusatory, and disrespectful. The estimate to replace is $700 and that is not going to break Wyndham. Watch out if you stay here! You will see how careless the staff is if you do.
We NEVER had a room cleaning, we had to call for towels and sheets. We even changed our own bed one evening. They obviously do not want return customers or word of mouth referrals. It’s a shame because the apartment we were in was nice. If you are going to the area stay elsewhere. There are better places just 10 minutes away. We were not familiar with the area, but are now and will never return. It leaves a bad taste in our mouth about Wyndham in general.
Overbooked and they turned me away!
I booked a room for my family. It was my daughter’s birthday so we also had one of her friends with us. I had a reservation and a confirmation. I even paid for the room in full.
However, when I got to the resort (and after waiting in their ridiculous check-in line for 30 minutes) I was told that they overbooked the resort at 105%. After spending the afternoon driving I had no place to stay. What’s worse is that they showed absolutely no remorse.
There was no consultation…nothing! It was a holiday weekend and place were mostly booked.
The entire weekend was ruined! I am still so angry with how I was treated.
I will never book at a Wyndham again!
Disgraceful for a Wyndham property
We booked this resort for our family vacation. We arrived in the evening and we were shocked and disgusted at the hotel room. We booked a two bedroom room. It was dirty.
There was a dirty q-tip on the bathroom floor. It smelled musty and the bathroom was dirty. They sent housekeeping to clean it. We went into the living room area and it was dirty too. Ants start crawling on my husband’s arm and a huge bug walks across my son’s foot. It was huge.
The place was uninhabitable. At 11:00 at night we had to leave and find somewhere else to stay.
We could not stay in such a dirty bug infested place.
It was a huge disappointment for us.
The front clerk promised me a full refund and that was April 1st. I am still waiting for my deposit of $338.66 back. It is truly a disgrace for a Wyndham property.
