Our family of six thought we did our research as to where to stay in Freeport.
Taino Beach was one of our top 3. The rooms are horrible.
Unless you are looking for bargain basement type of accommodations, do not stay here.
We were shocked at the rooms which mgt. said had been upgraded. The “resort” is very worn. We ended up checking out after night #1 and going to Grand Lucaya.
The front desk staff acted annoyed — no matter what time/people we approached.

Vacation "WORST EVER"
4/27 after a long travel to get to T.B.R with 5 kids & 1 adult.. the pull coach was broken only to call the front desk to be told ” WE ARE SHORT ON BEDS JUST MAKE DO WITH WHAT U HAVE”.
2ND day we received floor towel after coming from the pool only to use on the floor which turned black. I then asked for a mop to clean my own floor ” WE HAVE A SHORTAGE OF MOPS ” then security brought a mop bucket for me to clean my unit.. the pool was filled with bugs, insects. Not mention we all ended up with RINGWORM.
My first and last vacation at the Bahamas ever.. thanks to filthy, nasty, disgusting TAINO BEACH RESORT I will never come back or refer my love ones to catch fungus. Stay home everyone, save ur money and the disappointment.

Whole Freeport Island is a wreck…
Taino beach buildings are old and not maintained.
No Security on the site other than at the entrance gate.
No rescue equipment ( lifebuoys ) available at the beach .
Horrible Experience on 14th-Bahamas Anniversary!
Getaway, again to the Country we were married in, did not turned out this year to be Joyous! We spent our Anniversary time drying our clothes, repacking and waiting around for another room to become available.
First room smelled mould. No other room was available.
Closet-Water Leak & all our clothes got wet, No Hot Water, Safe short-out! Second Room-Hot-A/C did Not cool, Safe did Not work and No water pressure. So sad writing about it and after 10 days, we have not heard from Taino Resort Administration, giving us no choice for review.
BTW, BeleariaCaribbean Sea-Trip was Fabulous!
The Ocean building
We are staying at the Ocean at Taino Beach Resort and will be here for two weeks. We stayed here years ago and loved it, so elected to come back again with our son. We have noticed that after last year’s hurricane that caused a lot of damage, they have not repaired much. The roof of all three buildings is still very damaged, causing the top floor to be out of commission.
However we are on the second floor and when it rains, water runs through the room above us, through a blanked electric box over the shower, rains down to the drain and through the room below us. We have asked for them to fix it and they keep coming out to look and then leave without doing anything. Also, the mattresses are ridiculous. When you push on it you hear Springs, they are very old and terribly uncomfortable.
The pool is nice and we are right by the beach, so if accommodations don’t matter to you, the location is great. But don’t ask the manager to fix any issue with your room or for heaven’s sake, change your room, because not even the supervisor at RCI could get them to do that. In fact, RCI only gave us the option of finding our own accommodations.
I am not happy with the lacking quality of this resort and not sure why RCI doesn’t care.
