Let Mercantile Claims assist you with Timeshare Release
The Pueblo Evita timeshare resort is one of the most infamous timeshare schemes in the world. Located on the Costa Del Sol, it’s high-pressure sales strategy saw thousands of customers purchase timeshares during the boom of the 1980’s and 1990’s.
There has been a huge increase in complaints and timeshare release enquires in recent months from customers with Pueblo Evita resort timeshares in recent months.
Many timeshare owners who have successfully terminated their timeshare agreements with resorts all over the world, cite reasons for getting out of their timeshare as:
a mix of good and bad
Originally booked this as a WOWCHER deal buying two weeks then had a call from the company advising we couldn’t use two bookings had to give one away or lose it so we gave it to a relative. Coming on to the booking itself was advised we could upgrade from the “studio” we were allocated under the WOWCHER deal to an “ELITE” apartment for £125 which we did! (IF that was an “ELITE” god help the others)
Before we flew out we were sent emails asking to confirm flight times etc then when I did send them I received an email asking “WHY” we were arriving a day late??
Hmmmm!!! none of their bloody business. On OUR scheduled arrival date, we arrived at Pueblo Evita somewhat shattered. Our plane was late taking off from Edinburgh, then trying to get the hired car sorted took longer than we expected so one thing and another all we wanted was to arrive and relax!! Not much to ask??? After checking in at the desk we were direct around the corner to the concierge desk? WOW. Here we were asked to sit and after being told a long story about how Pueblo Evita has been bought over by “Rich” and his company would we like to make an appointment to be shown the re-modelled apartments and consider buying?? No thank you, was repeated several times until the lady finally got the message. In any event being in our seventies what do we want with a timeshare, you would have thought someone would have guessed that??
One point already made by several visitors is the Pueblo Evita is on a steep hill, therefore, some of the apartments other than those on the same level as reception
are round about and up and down all over the shop. There are no lifts as these were built in the ’80s, so we were told. The rest of our holiday we thoroughly enjoyed as no one bothered us again. We have spent many holidays in the Costas but none in Benalmadena until now and I don’t think we will be back certainly not to the Pueblo Evita.
Fill out your details below and we’ll get straight back.
Alternatively, give us a call on 0800 470 3900.
Step up Pueblo Evita!
As others, we went on a promotional 7 day holiday but even though we have mobility issues we requested lower floor accommodation but were told there were none available and we ended up in a top floor two bedroom apartment which had no lift available and had to negotiate up to EIGHT flights of stairs. Therefore we couldn’t get anywhere knowing we had all those steps to climb.
The weather was appalling (rained 3 days solid) and there was nothing to do round the resort. Free Wifi was limited to a small area down several flights of steps and we were not prepared to pay 25 Euros to get it in the apartment for a week.
Having said all that both the Clubhouse and Sam’s bar were good value (both food and drink) and the staff were very pleasant.
We were asked to invest in the resort which was a bit of a shock as we thought it just a promotion to fill up the resort during the winter period – not happy about that either and decided not to take up the opportunity.
Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
Great location, but bad staff attitude
Great location and nice apartments.
We had a great stay, but due to a lot of frustrations and wasted time because of apartment complications, we will not come back. Two years in a row, they messed up our bookings.
Both years they fixed the mess and gave us a nice apartment at the resort.
But this year they demanded more money because the apartment we got was more expensive than the one we booked and paid for. We didn’t find this legitimate as it was not our fault that the apartment we had booked and paid for was occupied.
Also, they told us that we would never get any discounts from their resort in the future. Well, that is OK, because we will not return to Pueblo Evita.
Most horrific holiday ever...
I don’t know where to start. We (3 people) stayed here for 2 weeks and it was the worst holiday we’ve ever had. Our first week we paid for and our second was a wowcher deal. I’ll start with the positives as there were so few! I am disabled and so they put us on ground floor accommodation for our whole two weeks stay no problem, the girl running the activities was absolutely lovely and so friendly, the staff in the clubhouse were also very accommodating and friendly, and a special shout out to Nando, without his happy attitude and great work ethic the holiday would have been so so much worse!
So cons. The wifi signal is rubbish even in the free designated area it faded in and out all of the time making it impossible to use the internet or FaceTime etc
On arrival we were informed that our apartment wasn’t ready due to a ‘deep clean’ process that took over 3 hours. Getting into the room, there were crumbs all over the kitchen counter, hair and dirt on the floors and a badly cleaned toilet. Beds were a bit creaky and not very comfortable. Air con great for when it was too hot, however there was only a thin sheet on the bed and a thicker fluffy blanket in the wardrobe which still wasn’t enough warmth when it got cooler at night.
We were situated in an apartment overlooking the supermarket street and at night time there was a club/restaurant that blasted music until the early morning (about 3-4) every night! There is supposed to be a security guard walking around the resort however we never saw him and when we were in need of assistance he was already called somewhere else and then didn’t show up.
Sam’s bar had great food and I understand that it’s a separate establishment to the resort however most nights the doors were open and music was blasting until the last person left which ranged from 12-2 in the morning. Our apartment was a 10 second walk to Sam’s bar so it was very noisy for us… the people above us made the situation worse, the parents would go to bed and leave their children unattended at Sam’s bar screaming and running around (eldest 15 youngest 6 and they had 5 children) we complained more than once, especially when they started arguing and screaming at each other and it sounded like they were rearranging the furniture constantly, dragging the chairs and stomping around until the early morning. However the staff did nothing.
The cleaners were supposed to come twice a week I think but we said we didn’t need it. They walked into our apartment 4 times in the first week early in the morning when we were asleep shouting ‘ola’. We felt like it was a massive invasion of our privacy as we could have been up to anything! When asked about at reception they said we should have told them we didn’t want it…
due to the dirt and old food left by the cleaners underneath the furniture we had a massive ant infestation for 3 days where they had to keep coming to spray (which affected my chest) and of course they said it was our fault.
We took a series DVD in case of rainy days which was brand new and I unwrapped it on the holiday. The first DVD player would not play it properly so they gave us another, then the second made it skip all the time so we got a third. This one left a milky film over discs 1 and 2, and disc 3 was left with a massive scratch going vertically down the disc when the player jumped. Told reception and one of the men took it to see if they could fix it. He took it to a friend who ‘cleaned’ the disc and said it was our fault because we scratched it taking it out of the DVD player… definitely wasn’t going to get any apology of them. Got home and now every disc skips and refuses to play properly.
Just a warning but if you like having a bit of a lie in then spending the day by the pool you can’t do that. There is one lifeguard and at three everyday he tells you to go and shuts the gates to the pool, you can’t even sunbathe and for someone like me it’s impossible to trek to the top where the other pool is!
We eventually asked the night receptionist if we could move because we had had so many sleepless nights and were fed up. He wrote absolutely everything down and We were told someone would come to see us the next day to tell us whether we would be able to move or not. No one came. Back to reception and they had no record of us asking for the move or any of the problems we had had. We requested a meeting with the manageress.
We said about the cleaners coming too much and she was adamant that they didn’t do it (basically we were lying). Said about the ants and again it was our fault for leaving food out (even though the food they were carrying away was black and hidden under the big armchairs which we NEVER sat on). Said about the noise at Sam’s bar and the security guard not being available, she said it takes over an hour for him to walk around the whole complex and we should have phoned his number at the bottom of the welcome pack (which just said phone this number in case of emergency nothing about a security guard). We weren’t bothered about her blaming us for everything it just would have been nice to have a friendly staff member, especially the person in charge, who treated us with sympathy after everything we put up with even though they couldn’t do anything (or wouldn’t in my opinion) about it. But no everything was our fault and they had done no wrong whatsoever.By the time we got home we felt worse than before even going on holiday!
I paid over £400 for the first week and nearly £50 extra for the wowcher to upgrade. None of it was worth it. I think that’s it and I’m sorry for such a long review but it was such a horrible experience it needed to be said.
Benalmadena was such a lovely place and I would definitely like to go back there but I will never be staying at the Pueblo Evita club again and I would not advise anyone else to, despite the collection of good reviews and awards it’s got!
Couldn’t wait to leave
I came here with family looking forward to a great holiday, and from reading the reviews I thought I was in for a treat. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The rooms were lacklustre, uncomfortable furniture, a dirty bathroom and the worst bed I’ve ever slept on. It is in dire need of updating.
The whole of Pueblo Evita is so built up it was impossible to stand anywhere in the apartment without seeing into someone else’s apartment. There is no A/C, but leaving the fans on permanently is enough to cool the room. They also have heavy curtains that don’t flap in the wind so you can have the door open and mosquitos didn’t fly in. They also act as blackout blinds, so if you can sleep on their beds, you can have a lie in.
The pool apparently has a strict rule of not putting down towels to reserve sunbeds but no one is present to enforce this rule. I journeyed up to the roof pool one day, which has an amazing view but the steps are a mammoth task.
The reviews on here say how friendly and polite the staff are. The activities girl was incredibly friendly and chatty, making an attempt to involve everyone. This is where the good service ends. I think I was smiled at twice? The food at the clubhouse was poor, and tapas night tasted like something from a local pub in England. Sam’s bar around the corner has better food, but drinks are fairly pricey.
The wifi was very poor, and due to the size of Pueblo Evita, I’m doubtful they’ll ever achieve a good wifi connection for everyone. If you’re addicted to having internet, I strongly advise you look elsewhere.
The location is good, and the marina is an easy walk despite being 2 miles.
