Update to review of "floors are filthy"
After my review posted about my family’s visit to Plantation Resort, I received a phone call from Sherry Sturgill the Front Office Manager. Sherry could not have been more professional and sincerely apologetic regarding our experience.
Sherry allowed me to personally explain everything my family had experienced and assured me that each department regarding the complaints would be addressed and improved going forward.
Issues, like we experienced, are not their standards and I believe this.
Sherry handled the situation professionally and with a calm and empathic demeanour that made me feel as if my issues were her top priority.
Thank you for the phone call, the resolve and my family WILL return to this resort to share in another family gathering; in fact, we are returning in June and I can’t wait!
Thank you again, Sherry, for everything.
Fill out your details below and we’ll get straight back.

Wow Great Vacation!!
We visited twice this summer and loved both weeks we were at Plantation Resort!
The staff is responsive and customer service minded which is great to see. Enjoyed our pool time with the indoor pool, lazy river, large outdoor pool not to mention the shuttle back and forth to the beach.
Staff is friendly and alert to helping you and your family! Great vacation spot with clean well setup rooms for you to relax. So close to anything you want to eat, or golf courses, the beach and shopping! This is a Great Vacation Spot and we will return
Still here. Just finished the "presentation "
In 40 years of Plantation resort ownership, I have never given this place less than a 5 star rating— UNTIL NOW!
When you check in-demand your parking pass and refuse the sales presentation.
You will see up to 4 sales people trying to pressure you into Wyndham ownership.
See the screenshot for details. I need to share this with my family. My brother in law warned us but we didn’t listen.
Current owners and a little dissapointed this time....
We’ve been the owners of a 2 bedroom loft for almost 20 years now and have had many great trips to Plantation Resort. We’ve seen the upgrades and refurbishments both inside the rooms and outside the rooms over the years. We thank PR for that!
Here’s my gripe. The last couple of visits we’ve been assigned building 200 or 202 which is nothing comparable to our 2 bedroom loft in building 215. Both visits we’ve had to go to the front desk and asked to be moved with the front desk and management telling us that the units ARE comparable. NO THEY ARE NOT! NOT EVEN CLOSE! We were moved the first time with no problem but on our last visit, we had to really fight sternly to be moved with the front desk telling us there was no availability in the resort. Management eventually found us another unit that was like what we purchased but no owner of a 2bdr loft should ever be put in bldg 200 or 202. I wonder if any of the employees have actually been in the units?? Why do they think they are the same type of units??
Needless to say, this was not a great start to our trip and it kind of left us a little sour. We ended up checking out 3 days early and spent the rest of our vacation at home hanging out at our neighbourhood pool.
Like I said before, we’ve always enjoyed our stays at PR. Love the pools, lazy river, poolside grill and the units, when we’re put in the correct one, and will likely be back soon. Hopefully, we will not have to go through that fight over buildings again.
Nice resort
Plantation Resort is a nice place to stay. We had time before our room was ready. So we went to a meeting about the resort.
The first thing out of our mouths was were not buying. I said we are here for the gifts.
The salesmen were very pushy.
We ended up walking out. If you stay don’t take the tour.
Plantation Resort - Fun for the Entire Family
We reserved a two-bedroom villa and arrived just on time along with everyone else, it seemed.
Our one-week accommodation on the second floor was ready and cleaned upon our arrival. It was driving distance from the Welcome Center. Although we received a map, we did get a bit lost on our first day. We occupied the second of the two bedrooms on the second floor of our building. It was a good-sized room with two double beds, an end table with a dresser, alarm clock & a closet with a drape for closure. Back doors opened to a small balcony with chairs & lounges from both bedrooms. The Master Bedroom had a king bed, two end tables, dresser, Jacuzzi and sink.
Both bedrooms had baths attached but the second bath was accessible from the public areas, as well. Each bedroom had a flat-screen TV, a ceiling fan and hair dryer in the bathroom.
The kitchenette had a table with five chairs, microwave, fridge with ice maker, and sufficient pots, pans, glassware & tableware. There was a washer/dryer in the unit. We cooked most of our meals in the unit.
The living room had a couch, love seat, large upholstered chair, coffee table and a flat screen TV. Internet although slow, was free.
We were located in a quiet area, within a short walking distance to the outdoor pools & Spas. Unfortunately, there are no sidewalks. We especially enjoyed the large heated outdoor pool and the Lazy River.
How convenient that there is a grill that serves snacks & drinks poolside at the outdoor pool.
There is also an indoor pool, fitness centre and a complimentary shuttle to the beach or shopping. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful.
There was enough to do in the general local area to keep us busy with shopping, shows and attractions. The resort has activities also. We did attend the extra cost Polynesian Night, A Fire & Luau Dinner Show held right on the grounds of the resort. The resort is very family-friendly and popular with families.
We only had two small negatives. The living room TV stopped working after one day & a remote was missing. Management took care of both problems in a timely fashion. Someday, we hope to return and enjoy another wonderful vacation here
