Ona Ogisaka Garden Timeshare

Denia is a beautiful place, the Ogisaka Garden however is quite tired, rooms are clean on arrival but seemed to only get cleaned once in the week, towels were only changed once during our stay. Important for English there was no Kettle!! Beds were extremely hard and we were told they are like this through the whole resort, we were given a single mattress topper for a double bed ( not ideal) and only a single pillow for each occupant.
On arrival we were greated well but the staffs lack of English and our lack of Spanish lead to us taking a meal offer, that we understood (or didn’t) was free breakfast / lunch. We used the restaurant 3 times for breakfast and each time the variety got less and the food got colder to a point that it was not eadable, regardless of what time we went into the restaurant.
In general the staff are friendly and helpful.
The biggest warning would be …. using this as a time share member on booking out we picked up a bill for the breakfast we were lead to believe was not chargeable and for electricity used in the room!! Which was not mentioned or to the best of our knowledge not advertised anywhere either in the lobby or the room.
Denia and surrounding areas are absolutely stunning. DO NOT stay at sons Ogisaka Garden.
We were forced to buy a meal package upon checkin and had no prior warning.
We had 1 breakfast at the hotel and it was inedible.
There are so many good restaurants so it is a shame you are forced to pay for meals there.
The gym is soooo dated.
There is also an indoor pool which totally smelled up the lobby and restaurant.
Go to Denia, just don’t stay here,
Good sized rooms and a nice pool setting but don’t think your going to get other basic amenities from this establishment. In this day and age any half star hostal in the back streets of anywhere has free WiFi on tap, yet Ogisaka Garden must consider that the lack of such a basic amenity enhances their reputation so be prepared to pay if you want to do anything online.
We were foolishly enticed into a half board deal to include a Cuban Music evening, the posters for which clearly showed a pair of Cuban style dancers, yet as good as the musical trio were, there was no sign of any dancing, at all. Also, the ”dinner” was buffet style – definitely not everybody’s cup of tea. I can only recall ever refusing to drink two bottles of wine in 50 years of sampling all kinds, but one of them was during this event. Never has there ever been such a totally tasteless white house wine served – and within a wine producing country!
I have never been so grateful at not booking a hotel half board: our half board deal also included breakfast, which was buffet style again but with fried eggs with what appeared to be rich golden yolks but which must have come straight from a refrigerator as they were so cold and with orange juice that had been watered down to an inch of total oblivion of any taste.
If you must book Ogisaka Garden be prepared to pay for Wifi and ensure that you eat all meals out as there are good restaurants within a few minutes walk.
Not what you expect!
Stayed at the Ogisaka in October for 6 days. This was not what the 5 of us expected. I would not stay here again.
The rooms need updating, the beds were awful and the pool wasn’t kept clean.
We had issues with the Televisions in both rooms and when addressed with the staff they were unable to fix it for several days. The grounds themselves were not well kept.
They also tried to sell different meal plans for our stay when we checked in. They were worse than a car dealership.
Although the staff was very nice they were not very knowledgeable of any activities in the area. What a disappointment.
Dreadful place, dead, nothing to do, building work going on, dust, bricks, temporary restaurant and bar a laugh!
Firstly the service and attitude of all but one member of staff, was awful, they really just could’nt care less. It was as though it was our fault for a) choosing to go there out of season, and b) whilst renovations to the resort were happening. Incidently we were not aware nor told that building work was going on, even though we had booked in October 2010.
The apartment was very nice (one of the new ones) very comfortable, very clean, fortunately away from the building work, but our sleep was often disturbed by local resident’s dogs barking through the night. It would seem that a lot of dogs are left out at night in the area, and if they bark nobody is bothered.
The resort is located in a residential area set back from the beach about a 5 minute walk. A park with a childrens’ play area is opposite, but the grass is full of dog dirt, and graffiti, covers buildings everywhere. Even in some of the prettiest beach places graffiti is prevelant.
We found that the port area was our favourite place, (it’s all new and very smart with lovely restaurants) also we ate in a little restaurant called the Arena, very good value owned by Dutch people. A little bar we found quite near to our resort was ‘Sum Sums’ very nice people and good for a snack lunch. Would’nt advise eating in Ogisaka!
The town of Denia about a 15 minute walk from Ogisaka Garden is not very inspiring, mainly just one long street of shops and cafe’s, behind which are lots of flats and supermarkets.
There is an outside market on Mondays which is quite fun.
We wouldn’t go there again, and what is worst is that we are investors in Medhotels, and we feel we were hoodwinked into spending two weeks of our precious holiday time, plus the expense of fights, and car hire.
