Let Mercantile Claims assist you with Lanzarote Timeshare Termination, Claims & Compensation
We have successfully terminated timeshare contracts for people who want to get rid of their timeshare. Contact us Now to discuss timeshare release & compensation claims
Many Oasis Lanz Beach Mate timeshare owners are currently tied into contracts with Grand Holidays Club, one of the leading timeshare schemes in Lanzarote.
There has been a huge increase in complaints and timeshare release enquires in recent months from customers with Lanzarote Timeshare Property. Timeshare claims include matters such as high increase in fees including timeshare maintenance fee charges and the selling of timeshare contracts/agreemets in perpetuity
If the contract with Oasis Lanz Beach Mate was sold “in perpetuity” or you were pressured into a contract with little knowledge of the implications then you can claim against the resort or a timeshare release on the grounds of miss-selling.
PLEASE BEWARE !!!!!
Having signed up to Grand Holidays last year with one of there representatives Mr Richard Daffurn I have since found out first hand that I was told a pack of lies regarding this package. I have just returned from our second visit and will I go back – never. I was told by Mr Daffurn that, you can get free taxi to and from the airport, there will be a porter to take your luggage to your apartment, you can upgrade to all inclusive for only 11 euros per day, you get a drink on arrival, you get a free welcome back on arrival and if you are there for two weeks it will get replenished on the second week, you can keep your room no matter when your check out time is, there is a laundry service for 8 euros which will get all your laundry done for your trip home, you are guaranteed to be allocated a superior refurbished room to your liking, choice of see view room, air conditioning or ceiling fan. The list goes on and on and was any of this honoured,
NO. Mr Daffurn cannot lie straight in bed and believe it or not he is still there taking your money. The restaurant is a joke as is the evening’s entertainment. The only thing in its favour is the location.
The Grand Holiday experience is a farce thanks to Mr Daffurn and is expected to go on at this location for many years to come. You will be hassled by Mr Daffurn and his team so please beware. I have taken out legal advice on this matter regarding Grand Holidays and especially Mr Richard Daffurn. My legal team are very interested in this case as is the national newspapers. Watch this space and please BEWARE.
Fill out your details below and we’ll get straight back.

Soiled Mattresses in rundown apartment clearly not acceptable
Shocked that a major tour operator would put us in a place like this – awoken on the first night to the smell of pee and got up to remove mattress covers in main bedroom and both single beds stained heavily with what looked like various sources of bodily fluids. It took three days for any action from this establishment even after numerous attempts by myself, my wife and the tour operator so this clearly demonstrates a lack of care from the Grand Holidays company who emblazon their logo on the raggy, smelly towels and bathmats and on a sign at the front of these premises!
Yes, the apartment complex looks, on the face of it to be nice as the plush reception area shows, but from thereon as you move into the complex there are tell-tale signs of everything being only skin deep as standards plummet in the apartments.
Little or no maid service, rubbish collection, change of towels and sheets and even people having to buy their own toilet rolls.
The defence from the management is “have you mentioned these complaints to reception?” – yes we did, continually as did our holiday representative but little or no action.
Although well equipped with microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, plenty of pots and pans this does not make up for the major issues with a lack of basic cleanliness and lack of maintenance. Issues included damp patches evident in built-in wardrobes, dirty kitchen cupboards with peeling laminate, ingrained dirt on skirting boards and floors, fusty smells in rooms, dusty side tables and sofa covers, patio door very difficult to open due to window seal failure to name but a few issues…
There is some redemption in the fact that the outside of the apartments are kept exceptionally nice for the many, many clients that Grand Holidays take around these apartments to sell holidays to – you know those people who give you a scratchcard and take you on a tour around showing you how good it is but as I’ve explained if you look beyond the surface “the beauty is only skin deep”.
Yes the bar area and the seating area outside is very nice (nice heated pool) and we enjoyed using this and the bar staff are very good as were the entertaining acts we saw – also the food was good with themed nights.
Staying at these apartments was a completely different and shocking experience never to be repeated as the major tour operator we went with are not returning after the end of this summer season which must say something?
Many other British travellers at these apartments had issues which I will leave to them to add in their reviews as we did not get the ants, cockroaches and freshly painted damp walls others talked to us about.
It is a shame as these apartments are very well located just opposite the Pueblo Marinero (also known as the Square) where you can sample some very good restaurants and bars all centred around a bandstand which usually has acts performing at night – a great atmosphere to be had here.
Two good Spar Shops nearby and overall the location was excellent – as other reviews have said but a great, great shame the owners of these apartments do not provide clean and comfortable apartments to all of their guests.
Awful Experience!
Actual hotel and surroundings were fine, heated pool a bonus but rooms were an absolute disgrace!
In severe need of an upgrade, dirty and fusty!
We were there with ‘grand holidays’ feel completely let down and ripped off!
Anyone approached with a scratch card, avoid with caution!!
Would not return here unless rooms upgraded fully!
Cockroach city
Booked through Alpharooms, good price and mixed reviews, read before booking. Had I read the terrible reviews before booking, I may have had second thoughts.
On arrival, the reception staff were very helpful and a package of paperwork provided about the apartments and resort. The reception is very very nice. Don’t be fooled, the adage ” fur hat no knickers” springs to mind. The timeshare “VIP” lounge is very impressive if only the apartments were “that posh”. Who owns these apartments? Are they all timeshare or do Grand Hotels own some of them? If I was a timeshare holder of one of these apartments I’d be disgusted.
Allocated room 204, overlooking the unheated pool and on the second floor. The garden areas and pool areas are kept clean and tidy. On entering the apartment it smelt newly cleaned and looked bright, the kitchen well equipped and a good sized balcony. That’s when it started to go downhill. The bathroom, the bath was ingrained with dirt, lack of enamel, the shower curtain mouldy and the sink dirty. The bedroom had what I believe is known as “shabby chic” furnishings, more shabby than chic. Cigarette burns on the bedside tables and dressing table. The metal wardrobe doors were rusty and the bedroom smelt foisty. Under the bed were tissues and dust. The pillow was a rolled/cut up duvet, in a bolster cover with a broken zip and held together with safety pins. The bedding was damp but the mattresses were firm and comfortable.
We did not eat in the apartment, a self-catering holiday, but ate out breakfast and main meals, only making coffee or tea in the apartment.
Saturday night, waking and in need of a glass of water, I went to the kitchen area and turning on the lights lots and lots of cockroaches scattered under furniture and under skirting boards. Horrific! I spent the night sat on the coffee table, too scared to go back to bed.
At the reception the next day I was told I could purchase spray at the local supermarket! Yes, I am in a warm country, but do not expect to have to treat bug infestation whilst I’m there. We slept with every light in the apartment turned on for the next four nights. I would hate to think of anyone sleeping in the lounge area on the sofa bed and having cockroaches crawling around. The sink and worktops crawled with tiny ants too.
The sunbeds that are in the best position for all day sun are quickly bagged early morning, despite a notice handed out on arrival that reserving sunbeds is not permitted. It’s clear looking around to see which apartments are timeshare ones.
I’ve read in reviews about this place of welcome packs and paying for the tv. Seems it all depends on who you book with.
The location of the apartments is fantastic, the grounds and pool areas, beautiful, but I suspect you pays your money and takes your choice. I’d never book here again and have written to Alpharooms to express my concerns, especially about the cockroaches, they carry diseases and for anyone with asthma or COPD, their presence can cause problems.
Never, ever again !!!
We have never been so glad to return home. Our apartment was ‘tatty & grubby’ to say the least. The bathroom was disgusting, with a large stain under the cystern and on the floor. The bath was rusty and worn out, the enamel was so worn away it was like standing on grit. There was mould everywhere. Power sockets were hanging off the walls, the ceiling fan was rusty and not fixed to the ceiling properly and when on was like a helicopter about to crash. There was a large patch of mould on the wall behind the sofa, I was lucky it did not affect my asthma!!
We paid for a self-catering apartment but we didn’t expect to have to clean it ourselves every day, we had to sweep the floor constantly as dirt was being blown in under the door from the filth from outside, as the stairs had not been brushed down for weeks/months. We had cigarette ends blown in as well. Rubbish was also left on the garden at the bottom of the stairs for the last week while we were there, it had obviously fallen out of a black sack and it was never cleared up. We have stayed in the OasisLanz twice before but have never known anything so bad, to make matters worse on 2 occasions we had reps for the Grand Holidays (timeshare) knock on our door and ask if everything was OK, when we said no, they offered to show us around one of the refurbished apartments hoping we would sign up to a 3 year contract. That really rubbed our noses in it. I just hope things improve for other guests as this apartment is a health hazard.
Hell on Earth
Arrived here for 2 weeks 23rd Nov, what a hole it is, don’t be fooled by the reception area which is very nice, uncomfortable seating though.
One part is taken over by Grand Holidays who are trying to sell deals, they don’t call it timeshare anymore but its the same pressured selling
They have their own saloon, entry is by appointment only according to the notice on the door, how elitist is that?
The reception staff need a course in manners, only one girl did her best to help us
Ann Marie, you were so good to me, so thank you, the others including the male receptionist were nasty to us, very offhand, in fact, I will be writing to both the general manager & Thomsons about their attitude.
We were given room 126, admitted they did give me a ground floor apt, it’s opposite the tennis courts & gets no sun on the terrace.
As a disabled lady there are no rooms with just a shower so had to manage best as I could with washing, when I asked for another room she told us no, no rooms with just showers but I know for a fact the refurbished rooms have walk-in showers but they save the grotty rooms for Thomsons guests.
As soon as I’ve downloaded my photos I will be putting them on here to show just how bad the rooms were, the bedroom was running wet with water down the walls(good for me I think not being an asthmatic) ,wardrobes with metal fronts dropping off & rusted up,ceiling fan in lounge hanging off the ceiling, fridge inside & out filthy & rusty, how they have the bare faced cheek to take my money is beyond me.
I could go on but all I have to say to the people who say these apartments are great, thats your opinion which I respect but the above is my opinion of room 126 & so many people we spoke to who have been going for years will not be going back, that includes us.
Very sad apartments/ time share base
Well…. Were do I start…..you get what you pay for!
The room was VERY old and drab.curtains hanging off the rail and mould in the bathroom.
The cleaner came twice in one week on days 2 and 4. All she did was quickly make the beds and she swept the middle of the floor. I can’t believe that we stayed for a week and we had the same sheets and towels all week. We left the apartment cleaner than when we arrived. …hence no tip. Never before have we not left a tip.
Watch out for the timeshare staff from grand holidays who banged on our room door claiming to be customer service staff who were asking about the condition of the room. He wasted over an hour of our time taking notes on our queries, which he had no intention of addressing. Then when I challenged him saying he was timeshare, he swore to us it wasn’t. Don’t believe a word they say.
Be warned. We had a late flight so had to use the shower facilities in the gym… We wish we hadn’t bothered…we felt dirtier than when we walked in there….it was filthy.
The positives were…the garden and pool area are well kept.
