Many Nautilus Lanzarote timeshare owners are currently tied into contracts with Nautilus, one of the leading timeshare schemes in Lanzarote.
There has been a huge increase in complaints and timeshare release enquires in recent months from customers with Lanzarote Timeshare Property.
Owners of this and other resorts have been cancelling their timeshare contracts for many different reasons, some suggesting that they wanted to get out of their timeshare agreement because of high increase in fees including timeshare maintenance fees, mis-selling or hard-sales techniques used to entice them into buying timeshare, consistently broken promises by the timeshare resorts owners and management team and the selling of contracts committing owners to paying fees “in perpetuity”
Disappointing
We booked after seeing Nautilus at the top of the ratings
We have just returned having spent a week there
We both found that the living area was uncomfortable. There was a dining table and four chairs of relatively basic quality. the only other seating was an uncomfortable sofa bed. A detailed inventory supplied said that there should be two armchairs (we were supposed to check inventory) but we did not have any. Reception said none were available for any of the apartments.
The TV had 60 channels but the only british channels were Sky News and BBC World Service. This is not good enough these days as satellite TV is available everywhere. I was able to watch English sport at nearby bars.
I agree with poor quality of towels but they were changed regularly
We had to pay 14 euros a week for room safe key with a 10 euro deposit.
A pool towel cost 5euros for a week with a 10euro deposit. If you wanted to change this during the week it would be charged again
I am pleased that we did not lose the apartment ket as this would have cost 10euros.Probably a noon checkout suffices but an extension cost 30euros.
You can use the complex facilities after checkout.
Why do they not supply washing-liquid? It costs next to nothing and it must be in their interest to have things clean
There is a small supermarket on site. There are two larger supermarkets within a 5minute walk.
Location is good being only a 5minute walk from beach, promenade, shops & bars.
Taxis are cheap on Lanzarote eg around 5euros to busy 0puerto del Carmen. Reception are happy to call one which arrives promptly
You can walk on promenade from Arrecife (3miles in one direction) to Puerto del Carmen ( 2-3miles in other direction)
There is some aeroplane noise but it is generally not disrupting
We paid £50 per night for a week.
Having spent several weeks in apartments throughout the Canary Islands
We do not think that Nautilus compares favourably cost wise with the others in which we have stayed. It all seems a bit penny-pinching.
Fill out your details below and we’ll get straight back.

Second time at the Nautilus never as good second time :-(
This was our second stay just got back, the Nautilus is clean and tidy BUT!! we had NO hot water for 3 days on the forth day it was finally sorted, we were only given a room on one of these days to shower in, NOT good enough as we had an elderly relative with us on his first trip abroad, the room was not cleaned as well as before on our last visit, I broke a glass and told them, on our 8th day there was still glass so I had to as for a broom to clean it myself.
The beds were not made that well and the general cleaning was not really that good I felt I had to ask for toilet roll and was not impressed with the was the kitchen was never even cleaned.. this was not the case last year. One of the receptionist was very help full the other not so.. All I can say very disappointed this time round will not be booking again.
I paid a lot for a superior room that had No hot water – that was not that clean – and when I booked I was told we would have a pool side view NOT THE CASE it was a WALL with not sun when I tried to get things sorted I was told people have booked in advance I said is a year in advance not long another the relay was oh you booked in advance I said a year and the replay was oh… I gave up at this point as I did not want to upset the family.
Prices
53 of my family and friends travel every year to nautilus for our annual 2 wks holidays at different times of summer, it’s a fabulous place for people with disabilities, but we have in the past week all been checking out availability for next year and are very disappointed to see how much it’s gone up in price, we have 16 people out of out 53 that have disabilities and while the living accommodation and grounds are excellent and the staff absolutely outstandingly lovely people we feel the price for next year is very expensive it’s gone up in price by €144 in just 2 years that’s quite a hike, while we understand the running costs increase each year we feel it is overpriced for somewhere with no bar or proper restaurant facilities. we have all been to Nautilus for the last 8yrs and are saddened that we can no longer come back due to the cost it’s a wonderful place to stay if you can afford to go we highly recommended it to other disabled people for many years but will not be able to continue to do so because of this we will miss our stays in nautilus but wish it continued success
Good for a week’s break
My wife and I visited at the end of June on an RCI exchange. Overall Nautilus was fine. As other reviews state the staff are excellent – very friendly and helpful. Units are OK though not exceptional compared to other resorts we have stayed at. Clean and well maintained with adequate utensils though we didn’t cook at all. Lots of nearby places to eat and drink. We liked the Oceans cocktail bar. On the final day we had a really excellent meal at Lani’s – a lovely way to end our stay.
We hired a car for the week so we could see the whole island, pre-booked with AutoReisen €35 for the WEEK! Only a small Picasso but adequate for 2 and at that price wow.
However taxis were easy to get – the staff phone for one and it arrives in a couple of minutes. About €6 into Puerto del Carmen.
A couple of negatives:
Nautilus charge extra to use the air-conditioning, how crazy is that?! In a hot climate that should be standard – you don’t pay extra for central heating when you go ski-ing so why for air-con? Utterly stupid.
The airport runway is 500m from Nautilus and you CAN hear the planes. Incoming flights are less intrusive but when taking off the noise is very loud especially annoying if you want a lie in and get woken by the noise at 7am (especially if you have all the windows open because of no aircon!)
We did notice some ants in our unit – not a major issue for us but make sure you clean up any bits of food – we left a potato crisp on the counter and it attracted a load of them.
Shower worked OK but was a bit pathetic in terms of pressure.
Slightly Disappointed This Time
This was our third visit to the Nautilus and we were given bungalow number 35 at the top of the ramp. Nice sunbathing spot on the terrace but not very private as guests using the stairs and ramp. We also noticed more noise coming through the bedroom wall during the night, in other words we could hear next door snoring all night. I had to sleep in the lounge area a few nights – paper thin the wall between 35 and 34.
Anyway these are things you kind of put up with but the most disappointing aspect was the cleanliness of the bungalow, mainly the bathroom. We stayed for two weeks and noticed on day one some rather horrible stains on a few bathroom tiles and on the soap dispenser by the sink, also the top of the dispenser hadn’t been cleaned for weeks, there was black dirt on it and I mean old dirt.
Also there was some areas of black mould on and around the shower floor. I also checked the underside of the sink, really not pleasant. All the stains remained for the two weeks we were there, never cleaned properly. The whole bathroom needs a damn good steam cleaning, it was filthy dirty.
Before Management reply and say why didn’t you inform reception, well, to be honest, I shouldn’t need to as cleanliness is a fundamental responsibility of the management and should be thoroughly checked and on this occasion, it has failed for some reason.
I’m not sure if we will return which is sad as it’s so convenient for my disabled wife.
10 out of 10 for disabled people
this resort gets 10 out of 10 for disabled people but we were put in a disabled unit which we did not need as we are able-bodied and found the toilet behind the shower curtain very inconvenient as if you used the shower you had to mop the room out to use the toilet we don’t holiday to do that every day.
We ask to move to a non disable unit receptionist told us one day we might need this type of unit which I replied that is not today, she then said disabled people need to holiday somewhere, which we said that is not what we are complaining about we understand that but we did not need a disable unit.
We was staying there through RCI as we are timeshare owners the receptionist ask if we had read RCI description of the resort we said we had but it did not mention the disable part of this resort we went back to the unit got RCI paperwork with the resort description but she would not read it, she then told us if we were not happy contact RCI and move to another resort so we left it at that and decided to grin and bear it. Apart from the unit problem we had, it is an excellent resort very clean and friendly everything is within easy reach. If we were disabled we would love to stay at a resort as good as this one 10 out of 10.
