Let Mercantile Claims assist you with Marriott Timeshare Release, Claims & Compensation
Owners of Marriott Resorts timeshares often find themselves trapped in infinite contracts with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stems from a mis-sold timeshare contract. Over recent years there have been a number of ground-breaking legal rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts which have resulted in refunds and compensation. Many owners of Timber Lodge Resort timeshare contracts are entitled to, or have already made claims.
There has been a huge increase in timeshare release enquiries and complaints from customers with Timber Lodge Resort timeshares.
Many concerns centre on the following factors:
Be wary of the timeshare sales!!!
Being a Marriott member, we own in Aruba, but we like going to Tahoe as well. We chose to visit for two weeks, and before we came, I was emailed an invitation to meet with the sales staff, with the incentive of either points or a Visa gift card ($200). We accepted (hubby and I), and we decided to do it on a Monday morning.
We were seated and given the sales pitch, of which we mulled over and said no, we were not interested.
THEN we were kept waiting again for the second sales person to give us a slightly different pitch, and again, we said no. THEN a THIRD salesperson came in to give us another different pitch, and again, we said NO.
What they fail to tell you is that IF you increase your point values, your yearly maintenance fees goes up as well.
One big purchase when you buy the points, and that’s all? Nope! If we went with the big purchase (around 28k), we would then be saddled with a 4k yearly maintenance fee.
And being told that they are increasing the cost of the points because Marriott just spent $$$ on newly acquired properties, and guess who’s footing that bill? Yep, us! We had problems during our stay as well, but it was the sales pitch that upset me the most.
You feel like you’re being guilted into buying more, and don’t forget, your heirs will have to pay for it too once you give up the ghost. Who wants to burden their children with this kind of debt? Not us.
If you can go to Harrah’s or Harvey’s and stay there no sales pitches and you’ll save yourself a headache.

Stay away if you are a Marriott elite member
This property is a farce money milking location that feasts on tourists and families during their busy seasons. It has ‘Marriott‘ only in its name but is actually run as a Time Share property.
You get absolutely NO benefits or perks for having any Marriott elite status (I am a lifer platinum status). Not eligible for early check in, room upgrades, no breakfast amenities on property (they hand you these discount lists that pretty much save you 10% on establishments that don’t cater to your needs), check out is at 10am and was told I am not eligible for late check out either so had to rush out of a basic bare boned facility where I paid >$300 a night plus $30 parking.
The only amenity they offer is a pushy sales pitch from their concierge to sign up for their Timeshare program.
The Heavenly gondola attraction that they base the location on cost $60pp with no discounts for living in this hotel.
I have been a Marriott member for 15 years and this is by far the worst stay I have ever had. Highly recommend Marriott members choose an AirBnB nearby instead. Will not be returning again.
Our worst Marriott Resort Stay
The room itself is nice.
We love having a kitchen and you can walk to the grocery store.
If you want a relaxing resort that will be fun for your family, look elsewhere. The resort itself is very small compared to other Marriott Resorts and not secure and not at all entertaining for our family.
Most resorts have a wrist band but this one does not and lots of access to the resort from a strip of bars and shops outside the resort. Loud music played day and night from those shops which did not make for a nice stay.
As usual, there are no lifeguards but no one is monitoring the super crowded pool.
People save chairs despite posted rules and some kid vomited in the pool. My kids saw it and we notified the staff.
My husband stood by the spot for 15 minutes before anyone came. We wish we had gone elsewhere!
Disappointed
Came up for a couple days of R&R and as long as I wasn’t at the hotel it was all good.
Staff was moping around so the service was terrible.
Had to move rms and they made the process harder then it should have been and got moved across the whole place. And can’t forget about the horrible valet setup they have going! Good luck trying to get your car and leave right away.
And what is it with staff trying to educate the guest about their terrible setup and making us suffer for it by making you order your car like 45 min in advance? They make it seem like it’s our fault?
Will never come back and will relay this experience to all the people I know so that they don’t have to hassle with this lack of service especially for a Marriott.
Poor customer service
This property should not bear the Marriott name, as they don’t honor any of Marriott‘s policies.
Though we confirmed that we would get a 4pm late checkout per Marriott gold status before reserving and again at check-in, they denied us that late checkout eventually, citing availability, despite the fact that several of the same type rooms were available and bookable on the website.
Chelsea O. (last name withheld for privacy) straight up lied about availability and when confronted about her lie with objective evidence (that there were multiple rooms available), she totally deflected instead of just owning up.
Horrible customer service, and Chelsea, her co-workers Brandon R. and Amber are all to blame. The pool area is also really dirty. Stay elsewhere!
Don’t buy a timeshare here!!!
Where do you start…… I’m a platinum owner with chairman status. What’s that mean to Marriot? Absolutely nothing spend 170k plus to be part of their time share network only to be treated as if you were someone off the street buying a night or two.
On check in the one request I had was on the day of checkout if they weren’t sold out to check out around 2-3pm because I have a red eye that night and would like to ski until 1-2 pm. No problem sir just check back with the desk a few days before.
Of course they will tell you anything to keep you moving along. Well of course today the story changed and “We never let anyone stay after 12 pm”. Now if they are totally booked I get it.
They aren’t and said it wouldn’t be a problem.
The day we checked in they give us a room at the alpine building. Just renovated they said. I would say that’s a stretch.
What’s the one thing you want when your sking? Be as close to the gondola as possible. Not here I’m as far away from it as you can get. I’m pretty sure the airports closer.
I asked if we could move the room before we settled in. “ let me check and I’ll get back to you. I have to talk to my Room Specialist”. Who is this person cause they didn’t bother to call us back that night. I called in the morning and was told they had to check with the specialist we’ll call you on your cell. I give them my number. We come back from skiing no message.
Management here cares about selling timeshares. They don’t care about you after the sale.
The sales guys tell you all this stuff to get you to the different levels of ownership.
Save your money because if you own 3000 points or 21000 like me you will get treated the same. They actually had the nerve to ask me to sit through thick another presentation to buy more points.
Yeah don’t worry I’ll be telling everyone to stay as far away from Marriot as they can. No one cares no requests will be honored.
I will never come back here. I will stay next year at the grande residence next door that are nicer and management takes care of its owners. If you’re thinking about buying a timeshare here don’t!
Pricey and Old
Stayed at both Tahoe Marriott timeshares on many trips to Tahoe for a ski weekend.
Good news for families with small kids is convenience of location of properties on either side of the gondola. The efficiency per night price with parking during ski season is close to $300 for Rewards members, higher for others.
The normal upgrade process for gold and platinum members doesn’t happen often because owners are the priority.
That’s to be expected, but it’s not possible for me to believe anyone would buy a week on those top floor rooms in either property. Both properties top floors have the charm of an old Holiday Inn.
Really need updating and the one window is tiny and requires a climb to a platform to see out. It’s really not a warm or inviting spot.
It’s best if you can spend all day skiing, and walk to a casino at night for couples. Casino rooms either Harrahs or Hard Rock at reduced rates even if you have to walk a block in ski boots seem like a much better idea for future stays in Tahoe.
