Owners of Marriott Resorts timeshares often find themselves trapped in infinite contracts with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stems from a mis-sold timeshare contract. Over recent years there have been a number of ground-breaking rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts which have resulted in refunds and compensation. Many owners of Marriott’s MountainSide Resort timeshare contracts are entitled to, or have already made claims.
There has been a huge increase in timeshare release enquiries and complaints from customers with Marriott’s MountainSide timeshares. Marriott’s MountainSide owners cited the following as reasons for wanting to terminate their timeshare agreements
Fraudulent charges
I’m a Marriott Gold member who booked through Hotels.com at a much lower rate, due to many points accumulated with them. Hotels.com proceeded to pull the correct/agreed upon rate from my account. When I checked in to the Marriott though, they charged me over twice the rate (without my knowledge or agreement) and casually told me what they charged as they handed my door card (and I had asked “what are these numbers you wrote on the map” were). When I showed them the confirmation email from Hotels.com, the guy who had been working with us just said, “Oh, we don’t handle those reservations at this location.. you’ll have to call Hotels.com.”Excuse me?.. YOU just charged me without authorization and now you’re telling me you can’t reverse it? Another lady came up to the desk and told him to go into the back room. When he came out, he advised that it was fixed and we would see the charge disappear the following morning.
Now, 48 hours later, the charge is still showing on my bank account.
I’m a Gold Marriott member who has never been so disappointed by the staff (who parks in the underground parking, leaving the lot FULL so guests can’t park there) and would never recommend this location, or stay there again.
Please remove your unauthorized charge to my bank account immediately. It’s actually another $40 higher than the rate you wrote on my map, and more than twice the rate I agreed to. Fraud?.. yup.

Do not waste your money please!
Stayed here (6) nights in early March with (5) people (2) rooms. Collectively we have stayed at hundreds of Marriott’s. For the money we all felt this was the worst Marriott yet. Absolutely blown away by how clueless and lazy the staff is.This is a timeshare money pit Marriott not a hotel.
I’m from New England, if you are looking to Ski on the west coast trust me Breckenridge, Aspen and those areas are far in a way better for your money. This was a trendy way to light my 10K on fire. Learn from my poor decisions.
Very bad experience
Oh and can’t forget about the head lice that were found in my children’s hair after the first night sleeping on the pull out couch. Funny how neither my wife or I picked up any lice and they insinuated that we brought the bugs. One of my sons has thin bright blonde hair that you would easily see ANYTHING in his hair. None were found in the car, beds at home, or anywhere else. We left the next day cutting our trip early and making it absolutely pointless to have gone. I spent well over $2500 leaving that hotel early and it was well worth it. The hotel and corporate office refused to reimburse our stay there but their insurance will pay for treatment of the lice. Doesn’t make much sense. I own a vacation home and would never treat my guests this way. I will never stay at a Marriot again!
Do Not Stay At This Hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Marriott’s Mountainside Villas in February 2008. We stayed in a Guest Villa and paid the standard rate of $379 plus tax ($418.42/per night) for a week, totalling $2,928.94. We did EXTENSIVE research surrounding all possible options in Park City and decided to go with this property for the following reasons:
1) Location, 2) That it is a Marriott property and we would be sure that it would be well-maintained and decorated nicely (WRONG!!!) 3) The fact that I am a Marriott Gold member with almost 1 million points with Marriott, and we MAY be able to get a room with a decent view. (WRONG!!!).
