This location could be stellar!
The Marriott Beachplace Towers could be the hotel you dream about. The elevators are super slow and the check out time is a hard 10am. Aside from that, this hotel is amazing! I have stayed here on multiple visits and I have enjoyed my stay every single time. The other disadvantage is that if you are a Marriott Platinum Elite rewards member, you don’t have the opportunity for upgrades or late/early check in and out. They do deliver a bottle of wine to your room though. Happy travels!
Beautiful Resort
My family of 5 stayed at the Marriott BeachPlace Towers from 6/9/18-6/16/18. We enjoyed our stay here. The unit was very nice, spacious, and clean. We were told we would have a view of the Intercoastal Waterway, however, we ended up getting an ocean view. The free wifi was really strong! The resort provided us with a high chair and pack n play, free of charge. The king bed was comfortable and the pull out sofa was even comfortable. They offered various activities all day long that suited a variety of ages. The work out facility is one of the best I’ve seen in terms of having updated equipment and weights. There is even a sauna in the locker room! They offered aquafitness daily and the instructors were very friendly and engaging (thanks Kimberly and Logan!). The kids activity center is awesome–filled with books, games, bubbles, a chalk board, blocks, etc. The staff are great and the service is very efficient. You are able to get endless towels for the pool or beach and the staff will gather the used towels even without you asking. You don’t have to return them anywhere. The location of the resort is superb. It’s located on the main strip, literally across the street from the beach. All you have to do is ride the elevator to the street level and you instantly have access to various restaurants and shops. You could essentially park your car and not use it for most of your vacation
There were a couple of negatives which caused me to rate the resort a 4 instead of a 5:
1. They are currently renovating the resort, beginning with the top floors. So there is construction from 9am-5pm daily, which also means that one of the 4 elevators is used strictly for the construction crew. You can’t really hear the construction noise from inside your room, however, if you’re on the balcony or at the pool deck, it is quite noisy. I am curious as to what the renovations will look like because our 3rd floor room was really nice, so I can only imagine what needs to be renovated.
2. There are 2 hot tubs, but there is only one pool and it’s kind of small. I would have liked if they had a kiddie pool too.
I would stay here again!
Very Disappointing
Just arrived here and am very disappointed. We are loyal Marriott customers. We are executive timeshare members and Lifetime Gold Rewards members. We traded our Barony Beach week for a 2 bedroom here at BeachPlace Towers.
I spoke with staff during the week and requested an ocean view. We arrived today (our week started yesterday) and were given room 301-303. Yes, it has an ocean view, along with a view of the side of the Ritz Carlton and equipment on top of a building.
If we were to sit on the patio, we literally are looking at the side of a building. Of course, there are no other ocean views on the entire property that they can change us to. Really? We asked if there would be anything available tomorrow…they won’t do a room change.
I have NEVER heard of any hotel not doing a room change.
We ended up with an intercoastal view, which is fine if that is what you were looking for…we were not. I will never come back to this property.
Thanks Marriott for having my vacation start off so poorly.
Great Views
I live the Fort Lauderdale area and wanted to have a little stay-cation for the weekend.
I am a huge Marriott fan and decided I would give BeachPlace Towers a try… I am glad I did.
Before I start, let me say that finding the parking garage was not hard at all and it was pretty easy to get to. The annoying part is driving in circles to get the floor you need and leaving the garage.
Once we got to the elevators, it look a little but it is NOT as bad as people make it (maybe it might be in the summer when the beaches are packed). The lobby is tiny but Ashley was so nice and checked us in pretty fast, check in is at 4pm, I got there around 5pm.
The room was simple and clean but the view was amazing!! Oceanfront view on the 12th floor, you couldn’t even see the sand, all ocean. I spent most of my time on the balcony until it was dark.
There are shopping plazas and restaurants but since I am from here, I did not go.
The sunrise was beautiful the next morning. Check out was easy, for a faster check out, call the desk before leaving. Great experience.
Best value!
I love the Marriott BeachPlace Towers! First, the location is excellent. It sits atop of everything I need to vacation; restaurants, a drug store, and it is right at the Atlantic Ocean.
The property is spacious and the staff is very responsive. I particularly enjoyed chatting with Nigel Steele. He was always full of welcome and smiles. He was eager to share his knowledge of activities on the property, and the surrounding area. I looked for him each time I got off the elevator.
I participated in Yoga classes with Kim and played Mah Jongg with other guests. I will return home happy and relaxed.
Worst Customer Service EVER!!!!
I must share one of the worst experiences of my life in my most recent “attempt” to stay at the Marriott Beachplace Towers in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I made a reservation in August for a 2 Bedroom Villa for 4 days (October 4th-8th).
This hotel was impacted by Hurricane Irma and it was shut down temporarily but reopened September 29th with limited occupancy. There was a message on the website and a phone number to call to receive updates.
I called the number each day from September 26,27,28,29 and all they said was nothing can be confirmed at this time. You will receive an email or call if your reservation is cancelled is what I was told. I called again 3 days before my reservation on October 1st and the rep was able to pull up my reservation and said there is nothing indicating your room has been affected/cancelled so you are good to go.
Then on Monday October 2nd, 2 days before my reservation, a gentleman from the Hotel, Ramon Fernandez, sent me an email asking me to call and go over my reservation. I called him that afternoon and he confirmed my reservation was still on.
He asked if there was anything special I needed for my stay and or extra accommodation for the room. I told him everything looks good to me and told him thanks for contacting me to confirm all my needs. This was the last I heard from anybody at Marriott until I arrived from Virginia via Plane Wednesday morning, the day my reservation was set to begin.
So myself, my 4 month pregnant wife, and 3 friends show up to the hotel around 10:30 AM and proceed to front desk to check on our room. The lady said she was unable to pull up my reservation and went to the back to check on something.
She came back and said I’m sorry your room was CANCELLED. I said that cannot be possible as I have called every day to confirm and somebody from the hotel just called me 2 days ago to confirm everything. She then got her manager Josh involved and he was of little assistance. He called a few numbers and then gave me an 800 # to call to speak to Corporate.
First, I don’t understand why he didn’t call and have someone already on the phone for me and then put me on phone. To make matters, worse, he had given me the wrong Marriott # so I had to ask him again. Again, instead of calling it up and putting me on phone, he simply asked me to call the number. I spoke with someone there and explained my dire situation, that I flew in from Virginia with my pregnant wife and 3 friends and are now basically being put out on the street homeless and the hotel staff isn’t doing anything to accommodate me or look into securing my other arrangements.
That lady took down all my info and said someone would call me back from Corporate. In this time, the director or Operations, Ben Alexander, came down to speak to us and I explained everything again. He was in and out of office making phone calls and finally after 1 ½ hours of being in the lobby, said give me 45 mins to see what I can do “we are going to make this right” So my group went to lunch and after another hour and a half (not 45 mins) he calls to basically say Sorry there is nothing we can do I do apologize.
We proceed to go back to the lobby and this time the Hotel General Manager got involved as well. We went back and forth with them and again people were in an out of the offices saying they were trying to see what else they can do. Needless to say, after another hour or so, she basically said I’m sorry there is nothing we can do but “there is hotel availability in Fort Lauderdale.” That is all I received after 5 hours of my first day of vacation ruined? They just tell me there is availability, go find another place. Not, We will take care of this reservation for you since we messed up, they didn’t offer one piece of help. I have stayed at this hotel 5 years straight and could not believe the level of incompetence and torture we had to endure this day. Each person had something different to say about when the reservation was supposedly cancelled, nobody was on the same page.
The information we received was all over the place and misguided. The group that called me Monday to confirm everything said we called you because we received a printout each day of what guests are arriving and your name was on it with an active reservation. I never received an email or call of this and the hotel was unable to show anything that proved otherwise. For a big chain like the Marriott, I could not be more disheartened and sad at how things went down.
So after 5 hours and nighttime approaching, we were just asked to leave the hotel and we left with luggage in hand and just started walking down the street in search of another hotel. They did not even offer as little as transportation anywhere.
We were able to find another hotel and forced to pay over $500 more than our reservation was with the Marriott. Perhaps the worst thing, nobody from the hotel ever called back to at least check on us to see if were able to secure another hotel. I have never felt so small and slighted in my life. I expect much more from a premier chain like the Marriott but all they did was fail and fail miserably at every step of the way. The stress you put my pregnant wife and friends under is unexplainable and low class—worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my 42 years.
