Why Do Maintenance Fees Continue To Increase?
The maintenance fee clause can be described as a ‘Trojan horse’ in a timeshare contract. It is usually hidden away in the small print, allowing the timeshare to increase maintenance fees at their own discretion.
The greed of the timeshares has led them to continue to increase fees, as their customers have signed long-term contracts, meaning customers are legally obliged to pay the fees. No many timeshares are increasing their fees year on year.
Once customers realise the amount of money they are paying in maintenance fees over the duration of the contract – it can be quite staggering.

Disappointed!
The swimming pool is inadequate! On entering at the shallow end there is about 5 meters of water of a depth that an adult can stand in comfortably. This area is usually occupied by families with young children. The rest of the small pool is very deep and you need to be a confident swimmer to swim here! The pool area is surrounded with sun beds with plenty of umbrellas. There is a small hut selling ice creams etc. There is no music or holiday atmosphere here.
The gardens are well maintained. However, getting from one area of this small resort to the other is daunting for the less able! Steps everywhere! No lifts and no ramps that I have seen. Parking is on the road outside your villa if you can find a space. The road is very steep and narrow, and many have difficulty manoeuvring in and out of spaces. Access to the villa is up steps. No offer of assistance in getting luggage into the room!
The villas are clean are reasonably well equipped, but dated and in need of a makeover. Both bedrooms are very small. 4 single beds! No double bed….why? Kept most of our clothes etc in our suitcases on the dining table as access to wardrobe was an issue. The kitchen is well equipped.
The villa is only cleaned once a week.
Individual air conditioning systems in both bedrooms and lounge. These systems are old and struggle to do their job!
Electricity is on a meter. Wifi is €10 for the week. Crazy golf €2 per person.
There is currently no restaurant or coffee area, although work is being carried out at the moment,? For a restaurant.
I would not recommend this resort to anyone I’m sorry to say, especially for anyone with mobility problems.
Terrible stay
again nothing offered to accept that they would look into it, take a bit more than that I thought, anyway we checked out two days early and went to Lake Vrynwy much more like it, everything that MacDonald resort should be like but will never achieve.
Not to be repeated
Two thirds of the restaurants (including those with advertising billboards) were closed – even at the resort. Spanish shops (even in such tourist areas) close early and all day Sunday [Get a grip, Spain]. So, if you arrive late on Saturday, you are royally stuffed. Not even an egg available at the resort.
Better be fit and spry
However, we had an upstairs apartment and the spiral tiled staircase leading to it was treacherous to say the least.
We had rain and the trips up and down the stairway were truly worrisome.
When we arrived the apartment had an extremely strong chemical smell due to the cleaning chemicals used. Having asthma, I knew immediately that I would have problems in the room.
We went to the front desk to ask if we can get someone to clean the floor with clear water to ameliorate the problem. We were told we were on our own. We washed the floor ourselves with clear water, but in spite of that, I got an asthma attack.
Also, leaving the property forces you to drive into traffic going 50 to 60 miles per hour with no ramp to a highway with lots of traffic. When you enter, you have to make a 90 degree turn off the major highway onto the property.
In spite of signalling your turn far in advance, the possibility of a rear-end collision is always on your mind. The pictures on the website don’t make it clear that the property is on a slope of about 35 to 40 percent.
The sidewalks along the apartments end without connecting you to the sidewalks around the restaurant area, forcing you to walk in the driveway.
Bad apartment-studio
I felt cheated when got my room.
Pros: new appliances and dishes, warm pool, near the sea
Cons: small, old room with Murphy bed and bad view.
