Room with a view
We are a non timeshare family and booked through travel republic
Really enjoyed our week here made all the better by the view from villa 68 which was breathtaking!!
Didnt really like the singers in the evening here providing entertainment as not our thing.
The only negative is the steep hill locations of the resorts but a taxi only 3.45 euros .
Lidl up the rd is fantastic for shopping and much better than the hotels shop where i got treated appallingly for trying to buy some bread which was apparantly hers so gave the onsite shop a wide berth after that.
Alot of people seem to all know each other as probably go every year for years.
Would we return?? Maybe without the kids in winter for a sun break but the hills were too much at times but on a positive also some wonderful local restaurants worth a visit including the outstanding charlies bistro, alfonsos, tipsy terrace and paddys which could sway a return .
A special mention to javier who was a very nice chap! As were the rest of the staff here but not the girl in the shop!!
Thanks for a great holiday team “las rosas” hope to see you again one day
Quiet, laid back, well maintained
We happily returned for another RCI timeshare exchange week following our good experience four years ago. It’s a quiet, laid back, well maintained resort, ideal for a relaxing week or as a base for exploring the quieter areas of the island. Lovely views of Los Gigantes cliffs and the sea. Nice pool with sufficient loungers. We didn’t notice anyone trying to ‘reserve’ loungers which was good. We love it here. Our apartment had been significantly updated to a very good standard since our last visit … new decor, lighting, furniture. Kitchen had a washing machine, much to my wife’s delight!
We found most staff to be very friendly and helpful. As my wife is dependent on TV subtitles a receptionist came and tried to set them up for us, but without success. She arranged for a technician to do so the following morning. Brilliant! There was a midweek bedding and towel change, along with a clean. No daily service.
We found the internet connection (cost 18 euros) in our apartment unreliable. We reported this and whilst attempts were made to improve it, it was never good. No reduction in charge!
We only used the restaurant once and found it a disappointing experience. There are plenty of excellent eating places nearby, though they involve a steep walk.
Despite the negatives, it’s a lovely resort and would happily return.
Just book - it’s fab :-)
What can I say? The staff MAKE this place – I have never felt so welcomed in any other hotel, nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed in many similar timeshare style resorts and this was glorious. We got lots of helpful tips and we drove to some great adventures based on the knowledgeable advice at reception.
If you are looking for Butlins or Benidorm choose a different part of the island – Los Gigantes is a GORGEOUS part with enough going on for fun but quiet enough on the resort that you don’t get much noise. Waking up to a view of the sea and the mountains is just beautiful.
We had a 2 bed apartment. Air con great, oven (okay-ish…use the microwave if possible), washing machine – fantastic and all in all it was well equipped, reasonably clean and comfy. Oh and I’m a sucker for a good nights sleep – beds were great – black out blinds even better!!
I haven’t read any of the other reviews (although I probably did before I booked), the only downside some people may moan about: I know wifi is a big deal to people these days but you can get it free in the communal areas – it was quite nice to not have access to emails all of the time :-) Ants are also around but you are going to get them anywhere – you just need to be vigilant not to leave out sugar and encourage them!
A little note…what reminded me to leave a review was that they returned a small item of belongings back to me (so sorry I didn’t review you already!!)…but this just highlights that their attention to detail is great :-) Thank you so much – we will be back again!
Tranquil Holiday Venue
One week break in November. The resort is located 30 -45 min drive from the airport which should be improved when the spur road off the motorway opens shortly. It is quite hilly around the resort and basically which ever way you walk at some point you will have a steep hill to climb to get back to the resort. Plenty of restaurants in the area along with a very nice little port where you can get boat trips to view the dolphins and whales. However there are plenty of taxis and the public bus route runs right out side the resort.
The Resort is immaculately kept and very peaceful. It is a mixture of timeshare and privately owned apartments. Some of the owners spend several months a year at the resort which gives it a nice friendly atmosphere. Activity wise there is a swimming pool which is big enough for a light work out and does have a life guard. To me the resort is not for young families who like a lot of activities albeit there is a club nearby which offers various sports. It is definitely one for those who just want peace and sun.
The apartment was modern, well maintained with all the facilities of a home. The view of the ocean was fantastic. The one downside of the apartment was the WIFI which you have to purchase on resort. Whilst not expensive it was problematic at times when all four us wanted to use it at the same time. On site there is a bar which is open for drinks and meals from early morning through to late evening. Food standard was good and portion sizes made it reasonable value for money. I found the food and drink prices to be in line with most resorts we have stayed on albeit higher than if you go off resort. Most nights they have entertainment which was good but again aimed at older residents.
The staff are a mixture of locals (majority could speak English) and ex pats making communication very easy. We found all the staff extremely helpful, professional and polite. In life I have always believed you get a true judge of people and organisations when things go wrong. On the Sunday morning we woke to find that a pipe had cracked next door and flooded our ground floor. I went to reception and spoke to the staff member on duty to be told that there were only one cleaner and one caretaker on duty. My initial thought was that it would be a day wasted sorting things out. Half an hour later we had packed, moved, unpacked and on the way off the resort for a day trip. To me this indicates a very professional approach to customer care and one which leads me to no hesitation in recommending this resort especially for those who just want a relaxing holiday.
BE AWARE mix up with week numbers
Las Rosas run THEIR timeshare calendar on a different week bases to every other calendar
So be aware and confirm you week DATES not just your week NUMBERS
They were not very helpful when we had discovered that we had booked the wrong weeks
I know other peoples have had this problem too
We have had to book somewhere else to stay on this trip (a love apartment for €250)as Las Roses wanted €480 (after discount) for an additional week
So after 25 years of timeshare I might just give it up as it is cheaper to go elsewhere
