The Fairmont (where they flick you for anything) is across the road book in there and save the walk. No Restaurant, no bar and no pool towels. Reception is not interested. They are dreaming of selling time share do not do that either. My cupboard handles fell off in a second. Oh only thing going for it is on Grand Canyon tour you will be last pick up and first drop off. Fawlty Towers live!

Buyer beware!

Make sure your plans are airtight before booking. They do not tell you this when you book, but they will charge you over $200 if you cancel because of your plans change-with over 24 hours notice. Maybe they need the money more than we do, but this is a terrible business practice. We will not make this mistake again. When we DO go to Scottsdale, we will give what’s left of our money to a more reputable establishment.

Week long trip

We were excited to see Scottsdale and the surrounding area including the Grand Canyon… we elected to accept a special promotion when booking a holiday inn in Canada that allowed us to visit Scottsdale for a discounted price. We were asked to attend a timeshare presentation. After enjoying 3 or 4 lovely days in Scottsdale this presentation period left us very sad. The gentlemen who joined the girl who was telling us about the offerings from Holiday Inn vacation clubs, was rude and insensitive making us feel like we had misrepresented our intentions to take them up on the offer., seriously we possibly would have bought something if we felt the value was there, but the resort in Scottsdale, while the rooms were clean, did not have the atmosphere we enjoyed in other places. All the balconies look out over parking lots and there was no restaurant on site. The service was good and the staff kind. But this is not our type of vacation spot. We look back and regret going there because of how this man treated us …after we refused the offer and stated why it was not for us he said he would cancel the rest of our stay and we could go find somewhere else to stay. Not a lot of class sadly and a great way to ruin our impression and memories of Scottsdale.

Horrible

My wife and I booked 4 days through Holiday Inn Club Vacations and it was horrible from the beginning. Customer service is pretty bad with long customer wait times, on hold forever if you try to call and hidden charges all over the place. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was actually denied!!!!

Pretty good scam for Holiday Inn. My wife and I travel frequently all over the world and never had problems like we did with this service. As an Operations Manager for an international company, I was shocked by the poor customer service and overall management. Scottsdale is a nice quick getaway for people in southern CA and Vegas but just don’t go to this facility. There’s plenty of others which easily top this place.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I HAVEN’T EVEN CHECKED IN YET!

I will be travelling with my husband, 2 toddlers and 1 baby. We booked a standard room and are supposed to check in tomorrow on May 19th. I called the hotel ahead of time to ensure we receive a room with 2 beds or a bed and a pull-out, so that my children can have a bed to sleep. The man I spoke with was more than unpleasant! He said since we booked through Priceline he can’t guarantee I receive a standard room (which is what we booked) that still accommodates our needs as a family travelling with young children. He continued to spew nonsense about us having entered a legally binding contract and that by LAW we can’t get anything different than what we had booked. This man was so unbelievably rude and spoke way outside of his realm of expertise.

This encounter with him has put a very sour beginning to what is supposed to be a pleasant family vacation. If this is how they treat their guests, don’t bother going – they don’t care about your business!

Nightmare Experience

Was offered a three-night stay at a Holiday Inn Express if I sat through a two-hour timeshare presentation.

I was planning a trip to Phoenix and travel a fair amount, so I decided to check it out. The salesperson was relatively nice at first, though she asked quite a few questions that seemed inappropriate and overly personal. I am a single, financially comfortable female of a certain age, and yes, I am dating someone, but I do not require his participation or permission to make decisions. By the end of the two hours, it was clear to me that the club was not a good fit for me.

That’s when things took a turn. ‘Susi’, my sales person turned even more personal and inappropriate, suggesting that there was something wrong with me for turning down such a great deal, said that she knew I was a waste of her time the moment we met and proceeded to insult my relationship partner for not agreeing to sit through the program with me and also hinted that there was something wrong with me for being with him in the first place. I was so shocked at her attitude and behaviour that I couldn’t even respond to her insults.

he then said that even though I clearly wasn’t going to buy in, that it hadn’t been two hours yet so I was going to be sitting there for a while. All in all, it was a most unpleasant experience and it’s hard to believe that the company trains or allows their employees to behave in such a manner. At this point, I’m not sure I will ever stay at a Holiday Inn of any type again.
