Misrepresented
When we arrived at Ozark Mountain Resort we expected to see a cosier place with 32 rooms as indicated in the Trip Advisor listing. It’s more like 320. We were at least a half mile from the lake, at which there is not enough access for the amount of people they could accommodate there, and couldn’t dream of seeing it from our unit. The parking area was way too far from the condo, and there were about 40 steps to get to it. The place smelled funny too. After reading one of the Trip Advisor reviews, it appears it came from somebody who owns a condo there.
It says the condo they were in last time was like the one we got, but rates the place a 5 as though it was perfect.
They invite people to call them to find out how to get the one their pictures are of. It just doesn’t seem right.
I would have liked to have gotten the one in the pictures too. The activity center was nice as were the staff members, but it’s really way bigger and less intimate than we had hoped.
Not a friendly place
Stayed at this resort for the first and last time…. Don’t know what was wrong with the Manager.. Maria I believe was her name… She was so rude to the employee behind the counter… Wonder why anyone in their right mind would work for this manager…..
Totally outdated, tired, dark and dingy
The unit was clean. That’s the only good thing about this resort. Our vehicle was one of very few in the entire resort so they were virtually empty. You would think they would give us one of the better units…apparently not. The huge, outdated tub in the master bedroom (no shower) was horrible and old. The master had a queen bed (not a king) and no TV. The light in the living room buzzed so loudly that it couldn’t be used so the place was dark (only a small lamp). There was no WiFi in the unit (hard to believe in 2017). The kitchen counters were old, worn-out laminate. It was trying to be rustic but just looked cheap. The TV in the living room was tiny. There was no security to anyone could drive in and out. We left to go home a full 24 hours early because we hated the place so much. Branson is a beautiful area and we will go back but never to this place for sure.
Cabins awful
Checked in 2 bedroom cabin smelled mouldy and was dated very worn tiny decorated in the 70s definitely not. What pictured on brochure asked for manager on sat to call me finally got a hold of one on Wednesday moved to a nice condo air free of mould don’t stay in cabin ask for presidential condos on the hill
Not what it used to be
Our family has been timeshare owners here for around 30 years. Since Holiday Inn took over things have gone downhill. Perks have been taken away and the friendliness and welcome feeling of the registration office is gone. For the past 10 years our whole family has gone there for a week using our regular week plus transferring our week from another location. This was the first time we have not been given a Presidents View unit for the transfer. The other, smaller units are very outdated, dark and dingy. Lights and fans were dirty. Both toilets were broken (handle and seat). One tiny shower for a unit that sleeps 6. And the master bedroom is still wide open to the bathroom with just a jacuzzi tub which I would never use. It should be remodelled to include a shower instead and made a separate room.
Also the check-in process was frustrating. I was sent away twice, telling me to try back later, it wasn’t ready yet or not inspected yet. Then I was put on a separate line to get my parking pass. I didn’t realize until later that it was a line for some guy to try to sell me stuff. What a waste of time when all we wanted to do was start our vacation and meet up with the rest of our family. Oh and we lost electricity for a few hours too… just icing on the cake. Overall this was the worst week I’ve ever spent at this resort and I have no reason to believe it will get any better going forward.
Worse resort we have been to in 22 years.
We own 3 timeshares and have stayed in timeshares all over the United States and Mexico and this was the most disappointing one we have ever been to,. First of all the unit is on a hill with steps so unloading the car was not fun. We were in an older unit which was in need of an update. It still had analogue tv’s with snowy pictures.
The unit was not very clean.
First time we have been to a timeshare that did not have a shower in the master bath and the shower door in the second bath was mildewed and had mould. The cabinet shelves were warped. The BBQ pit on the patio needed cleaning before we could use it. There was a large trash can on the front porch that had garbage in it and stunk. Maintenance did bring in another TV.
There were plenty of available units so you would think they would have put their guest in a nicer unit. We even asked if we could have a newer unit but were told no. We will definitely not be staying at any more Silverleaf Resorts. Very disappointed.
Critique of Stay at Ozark Mountain Resort April 22-29 2016
Since this was a pilot trip to determine if we would like to use this type of facility, we were pretty disappointed. The registration staff did not appear to be much concerned about some of our concerns when we checked in on 2/22/2016.
When we got there we discovered that we had poor TV reception. Later in the week the maintenance staff checked it out and found that there was a broken wall co-ax receptacle and that about 20 feet of cable under the living room had been chewed on by rats. Also, the water tasted like chlorine and the ice cubes were even worse. We had to buy bottled water and ice. The shower stall faucet was hard to set temp right.
We were never able to get WiFi so had to make a daily trip off-site to the local library to do our computer work.
I was considering a condo purchase or timeshare program. This helped me decide – NO!!
It was a darkly lit condo. All the CFL bulbs took a while to heat up. The picnic area was a farce. I hope Holiday Inn does a better job of providing good service and atmosphere.
