Lovely stay at Club Puerto Anfi
I’m writing this from the pool as we wait for our transfer to Las Palmas Airport. We have had a tremendous stay at Anfi – the staff are great and facilities really good. If we could only have another week. The room quality was a tad dated but hasn’t changed my opinion one bit. We stayed on the seventh floor and had a fantastic view – which made the nice balcony area even better. If I could make one negative comment (and this in no way reflects on the quality of the resort) it would be about the party boat that drops anchor most days in the Bay Area close tot the shore. The sounds of bad eighties music and yawning wore thin after a while and could be heard all around – maybe something that Anfi and the other resorts could take on? Having said that, we would certainly return and recommend.
Anfi tastic
Really enjoyed our week at Club Puerto Anfi. Having driven around the island I was only really struck by Puerto De Mogan as being just as nice in a more quintessential way. CPA is a bit more upmarket and had an abundance of eating places. My only gripe (being a seafood lover) is that each restaurant is trying to cater for every taste and unfortunately it becomes less Spanish and more like restaurants on the high street back home in uk.
One or two carry the typical “British pub” feel with football emblazoned on big screens, but generally, it is good if not a little expensive to eat in the Anfi resort. Nighttime entertainment was okay.
The staff are lovely and very accommodating, the pool area was yob and ned free and most families friendly and talkative.
The resort itself is spotless. I’d recommend a day at Maroa Beach club and definitely use the ferries for a trip up the coast to Puerto Rico and De Mogan (ignore the glass bottom boat advertising).
Snorkelling and swimming in the sea is a must and water sports are aplenty
Great...again!
Club Puerto Anfi is incredible.
The rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable!
The balconies offer great views of the port and the ocean!
The pool is the number 1 place to go in the day with activities taking place all day. The Benito mini club is for children under 12 (sorry if mistaken) and it is pretty much active all day bar lunchtime.
The teens club occupies 13-18 year olds with fun activities such as archery, football, shuffleboard and water polo throughout the day. The adults club is similar to the teens club but obviously, 18+ and shooting is an activity for the grown-ups.
The surplus of bars makes it difficult for you to decide where to have a refreshing drink round the pool.
There could be a wider range of restaurants in the main plaza as the Men Saab (Indian) has shut down but a walk into the city will not disappoint in restaurant choice or you can have a takeaway delivered to your room at Anfi! The mini disco at night drains the energy out of the little ones at night as they dance to songs with the mini club workers. Anfi is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a relaxed holiday!
You will like it here!
I have been to Club Puerto Anfi for several years now & it is a great place to go to relax. Check-in is easy & the staff are very helpful. There are no languages issues as the employees speak several languages including Spanish, English, German & Norwegian to name just a few.
The apartments are well proportioned, clean & have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. In fact, all you need is a toothbrush & swimwear on arrival.
The resort is in between the towns of Patalavaca & Puerto Rico, therefore, you need to travel there by bus or taxi. There are plenty of taxis at the reception area.
There is a small supermarket on site, a small shopping centre, restaurants & many activities to keep you busy if you feel the need.
I like the guaranteed sunshine, the mixed cultures & the safe feeling of the resort – there is security on the gates. The resort becomes quite quiet at approximately 11pm, therefore, it is great for families. There is also a bar open later for those that want to stay up.
The only negative I have is that the restaurants are quite expensive for what they offer but is it a short trip to the nearby towns which offer ample choice.
Luxurious and spacious
Club Puerto Anfi is one segment of the Anfi del Mar complex near Arguineguin.
The ‘Puerto’ bit is the large vertical complex overlooking the island and marina.
The apartments were among the best anywhere. Plenty of space on the balcony (facing west but getting the sun all day) – huge bathroom with excellent shower, as well as a corner bath in the bedroom.
There were four different restaurants in the complex, as well as several cafes – we especially liked the Gran Bahia which is just round the corner in Club Gran Anfi.
We were not so keen on the Tropical restaurant in the Anfi Beach Club which appeared to be a bit down market – we would have been disappointed to have been based there.
Pure luxury
I have travelled to many places in my years, but Club Puerto Anfi is the most amazing place I have ever stayed, pure luxury, the apartments have absolutely everything you would ever need on vacation, staff extremely pleasant, cleanliness is above and beyond perfection, I really can’t say enough about this place, SUPERB !!!!
A Great Surprise
I try to keep my expectations in check when using RCI exchanges in Europe. So my husband and I were thrilled to check in to this resort. And for a change, this was, indeed, a “resort.” From the beautiful lobby to our wonderfully appointed room, to the view over the resort and ocean, everything we saw was so far beyond what we expected. Club Puerto Anfi is part of a large Anfi resort complex on the southern end of Gran Canaria. Guests can use the facilities of any of the resorts, which means multiple lovely pools, a great beach, mini-golf, and much more.
Many excellent restaurants, bars overlooking the ocean.
The nightly entertainment is hokey, but kind of fun, There are activities throughout the day, although we did not participate.
A small ferry takes you to Mogan for a reasonable price.
You end up paying for quite a bit at the resort (parking, restaurants, some activities) but overall I can’t rave enough about our stay. The only drawback is it’s so lovely we had to push ourselves out to explore the island.
We’d love to return, but the Canary Islands are quite a shlep from California!
Excellent
We have just returned from a week at Club Anfi Puerto in August 2012. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 16 & 5.
We all had a lovely time and the Anfi resort was great. We stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment which was very spacious. Our bedroom had a large bath, plus there was a separate bathroom with shower. The kitchen was fully fitted and had a full sized fridge, a dishwasher and even a coffee machine. The balcony was very spacious and had a large table and 4 chairs but also 2 sun-loungers. Our room wasn’t as tastefully decorated as some pictures I have seen of other rooms but it was very clean.
There are about 14 restaurants on-site and I can honestly say we had some amazing meals. In particular, the seabass, prawns & champagne meal at Puerto Vista was outstanding.
We took the ferry to Arguigeun market one day and then to Puerto Mogan another day. We went into Puerto Rico for two evenings and had meals in two great restaurants recommended by Trip Advisor. The first was a seafood restaurant in the harbour called Grill Costa Mar and the second was in the shopping centre, a tapas restaurant called Balcon Canario.
It was great being able to go to any of the 4 pools on-site and we never had problems getting sunbeds – although people did leave the towels on beds all day without returning. This does annoy me because we do spend the whole day by the pool. I liked the way they give you beach towels to use. The pool areas were always very clean.
I was disappointed that there were no chairs to sit on in the Plaza, so everyone had to stand to watch the evening show – very odd! If you were sitting in one of the restaurants you couldn’t see the stage because of this
