Union Warf Canal boats
The romantic idea of travelling along the canal while enjoying the peace and beautiful countryside was only shattered by the noisy engine and exhaust from our boat. Other boats purred along, these boats vibrate from front to back when the engine is running.
A disappointing trip
Take plenty of waterproofs, don’t expect to cater with the equipment provided, use ready meals!
Beautiful scenery if the sun shines, an interesting experience using the staircase locks, four able bodies would be better than two.

Excellent service. Beautiful setting. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food very good for ‘pub grub’. Prices reasonable. Certainly go back
Lovely Boat Holiday, great boat but expensive.
Customer service very good when picking the boat up, turns out we could have picked it up earlier than stated on the booking form, but we missed the phone call.
Boat ‘Short Eared Owl’ very good and reliable.
Holiday and diesel fuel very expensive, however.
No staff to greet us on return but we were told this may be the case so arrangements had been made.

We take our own cooking appliances etc as space is limited to the provision is limited.
If you take a blanket and curtain pole which will stretch it helps whatever the time of year as it acts as insulation across the door.
Bear in mind space is limited and a boat is like a mobile caravan.
For a first experience, we think the more hands you have is better for lock operation.
Never open a paddle fully as the flow of water is distressing for the boat handler. Watch the video
