Gilligan’s Island :(
First, let me say STAY AWAY FROM BLUEGREEN VACATIONS!
You are able to stay here if you sign up for a tour. However, upon signing in they place you in Building 1. Building 1 is pretty much hotel guests which we are. The room was okay with a washer and dryer in it and two bedrooms 2 baths, living room and balcony. It was a nice setup but average. There was nothing about the room that wowed me or even enticed me to want to see more. We stayed in room 706 where the door keys didn’t work, the dryer took several cycles to dry and what exactly do we do with our towels??? No one knows because they don’t tell you that either.
They scheduled us for a tour and when we got there I told them that I am willing to give them 2 hours because I had plans for noon and my tour was scheduled at 9. As soon as I said that all of the workers turned and looked at each other and gave us this strange stare and told us to be seated. I’ve been to other timeshares and their 1 1/2 to 2 hour presentation turned into 4 hours with several different people trying to hard sell. I wasn’t going to buy into that.
Several minutes later the lady comes over and says because of your answers on the questionnaire, you don’t have to tour today. We will still give you the free gifts out there. WHAT!!!!!! There were NO QUESTIONS on the form. I gave them credit card, ID and spouse was there and did the same thing.
We never toured there, made the income and had paid the fees. This time I was angry because I was actually looking forward to seeing what the resort had to offer since I wasn’t too impressed with my room.
Maybe the other rooms for owners looked better. They shooed us out because we only were willing to give them the lie that they sell on the phone with the 2 hours of your time nonsense.
Needless to say, I can’t even rate this place well because we couldn’t see 90% of it and the 10% we did see was ehhh BLAH!
Disappointing stay
We were on a timeshare package – that wasn’t cheap – Room 2 bed 2 bath was nothing like the pictures online – dark wood floor, chocolate brown couches – very dated. very poor lighting. no place to put groceries. Silverware holder was in one of the cabinets because there wasn’t a drawer. Rooms need updating now!
Timeshare presentation was supposed to be 2 hours – we started at 3 and left the sales centre at 7:15 thank goodness we didn’t waste our whole day with this.
The waterpark was nice – but water turned murky after about 3 hours of being there. Pool near lobby needs a good cleaning as well, grates around the pool were dirty. Ducks swimming and pooping in the pool.
For the price of this property, I expected more – I would not stay here again
BEWARE OF BLUEGREEN!!! SCAMMERS!!!
They told me that the presentation would only last 90 minutes. For more than 5 hours we were sitting listening to their high pressure and deceptive sale methods.
This was supposed to be a family vacation and we had to sit there and our kids and family were back at the hotel room annoyed. WORST DAY EVER…
Even the floor manager named Juan told us that they would buy it back if we did not like it and that we could make money using members-only bonus time.
When I went back to another Bluegreen resort Christmas mountain village, one of their own sale representatives laughed at our face when we told him what Juan had told us before and all the lies.
He even told us “he lied to you guys” DON’T BUY FROM BLUEGREEN, RESEARCH AND READ THEIR REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY. THEY HAVE A VERY TERRIBLE WAY TO GET YOU TO BUY THEIR TIMESHARE. THEY LIE ABOUT THEIR SERVICES. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT.
Timeshare tour: Attn: Important!!
This is a notice to anyone who enjoys a beer.
Do not stay here if it involves the timeshare tour and having a beer beforehand. They (and in particular Emmanuel Hernandez) will not let you do your tour and in my case cost me my entire stay (300/ day) for three days because I could not reschedule with my schedule.
Mr. Hernandez duped me with all of his questions into me telling him that I enjoyed paid beer at the property’s pool bar with my grouper sandwich beforehand, having just one light beer prior to the tour. He reported me for breaking the rules and had someone else making me sign off that I had been consuming alcohol. And his superiors backed him. What b.s.?
I would stay anywhere else and rather pay than be humiliated here like my wife and I were, cost me a day of vacation and cost me $900 of returnable hotel fees, and stress.
Nice enough, but I’ll never stay there again.
The good: This resort is huge. It has multiple pools and several activity areas. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well taken care of. Maintenance staff were very friendly and helpful. It is centrally located to Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld, making it convenient if you like to go to all of the above. Not so convenient if you are focused on one park over the others.
The bad: Parking was impossible. I don’t think there was enough parking for every room to have even 1 spot. Most days I wound up long distances away from my room – not an easy trek with mobility impairments. The sidewalks look good but are not very handicap accessible. Limited access from the parking lot to the sidewalks, and then the route may be blocked by cars/trucks that parked next to the walkway.
The really bad: It is a timeshare. That is not an issue. Using a timeshare is how I got my rooms. But the salespeople here literally would not take no for an answer. I repeatedly informed them that I was not interested and did not wish to buy, and was told that I had to sign a contract anyway. When the quality assurance officer asked what she should list as my reason for purchasing, I told her the truth – that no one would believe me that I did not want this and had no intention of purchasing. She replied, “that’s nice, we’ll just put down vacations.” I left from the sales presentation and went straight to the post office to send a certified letter of intent to cancel the contract. It was easier to do that than waste more time arguing with the salespeople.
The other really bad: I used two different partial week reservations. They refused to link the reservations together, although they did arrange that I would be in the same room so I did not have to pack and move in the middle. They also neglected to inform me that I would be charged a cleaning fee since neither reservation was for 5 nights or longer. Even though my total stay was 7 nights. Only at checkout was I informed of the near $100 charge, and that they would not remove it even though the 4-night stay had a cleaning service included in the package that was never performed.
Overall, there are nicer resorts in Orlando, with better access, closer to the attractions, more humane sales, and more reasonable policies
Neverrrrrrrr again. Nope.
If this is their idea of marketing in order to sway timeshare purchases, they are sorely missing the mark.
I had a promotional stay here and really didn’t expect too much so I purchased an upgrade for over $400. The funny thing is when I called the front desk dissatisfied with the room they put me in, they informed that the resort room ( in building 1) was an upgrade from the Hilton Gardens. I could not help but laugh. I have stayed in many hotels, all over the country, out of the country and various chains so I am familiar with hotel styles and accommodations. This is NOT an upgrade by any stretch of the word. The room is OLD, CHEAP, and has a dirty feel. I used Clorox wipes in an attempt to make it feels less ‘used’ but there is no taking away from the ugly yellow wall paint (which they used to paint the crown moulding, who paints crown moulding yellow?!), the slightly off colour touch-ups, the extremely cheap looking, banged up and scratched 1990s furniture, closet doors, dressers, TV stands, and the living room couch is some mustard cloth material.
I have two small children and needless to say, I am either wearing my one-year-old or he is in the playpen, no free roaming. And my daughter has been instructed to wear socks because the rugs in the rooms and living area are atrocious too. Let’s not even talk about the lamps and decorations, curtains, hotel hallways, or baseboards. Here is the kicker though, there is whirlpool bathtub in the bathroom which is completely out of place within the rest of the room. It seems they must have had no other choice but to remodel the bathrooms but did not bother to touch the $15 TV stands and dining table with chairs.
If I wasn’t travelling with my 2 yr old, 1 yr old, my best friend and her two 3 yr olds, I would have gotten my money back, taken the “downgrade” back to the Hilton (LOL) and been gone like the wind. However my check-in was at 4, when all was said and done it was 5, when I mentioned all of this to the front desk they sent someone to see another room on the 10th floor (same building) which was actually worse and we had dinner reservations at Chef Mickeys so there was literally no time to continue with this fiasco.
I am highly disappointed and will never return here or recommend it to anyone for that matter. It is a shame since the grounds and building exteriors are well kept and the staff is friendly for the most part- except the guy who told me I would have to pay a $100 housekeeping fee for being in a room for 5 minutes before complaining I was dissatisfied. Needless to say, we will be looking elsewhere for a timeshare, Bluegreen is unethical.
Property needs some serious help if you want to feel safe
Where do I begin? we stayed in the spring so better late than never, like the motto of engineering when they came for a/c blowing not so cold. If anyone is familiar with Orlando crime of cars if actually very high. So let’s get started.
The Fountains does have a security gate that you enter through, then you continue to the front desk ah looks like a nice safe place for our family with kids ya think. Then here’s where it turns.
The sales pitch for timeshare, (just say no and unplug room phone and you’re good rest of stay)then if you chose a 3 bedroom or bigger 2 bedroom that has 2 Queens your off to building ONE( their version of the tower of terror). this building is actually next door, a high rise U shape property they bought for overflow. So as you drive a bit you see that your parking lot is literally right off International Dr., no security gate nothing, no security inside building well you will for sure see the cockroach guards as you continue your tour to the elevators.
Remember we’re pretty far now from that front desk and the actual Fountains, as you walk down long hallways you’ll get to your room, As a seasoned resort guy these are very nice rooms I’ll give them that golf clap, wait until you open the patio door to get a view of that lake view and are welcomed by hornets everywhere because the balcony is not screened in, because remember how important you are that they purchased next door property for overflow and I’m guessing the screens aren’t in the budget.
So as you quickly head back inside be sure to salute the Hornets and tell them to say Hey to the cockroaches.
As the tour continues we notice building ONE has no one swimming in the pool, perhaps why previous owners had to sell, the buildings U shape blocks the sun as a general contractor I find it funny but don’t laugh too hard or the echo off building will slap ya back in the face kinda like as you’re saying wtf am I doing in the place.
Ok tour continues, the walk to the pools is gonna be a bit, but hey you’re on vacation what’s the big deal right? I’m sure Bluegreen thinks this is fine or maybe not they have golf carts to pick you up weeeeeeeee a free golf ride to the pools, so excited. Back to the tour. The main pool is nice but way too crazy, loud which is ok but it is a resort like feel right? the pool by check-in is nice, ahhhhh quiet, relaxed, perfect we can see the lake its right behind your lounge chair, no Hornets.
The other direction you’ll see the Tower of Terror off in the distance as it looks a bit smaller from that long walk. We were lucky on day 3 of 11 a fantastic employee asked us how our stay was I said well with 3 kids building 1 is a bit far if they choose to swim when other buildings are right outside the door. Can you believe we got moved to building 8. stil,l about 5 minutes walk to the pool but we now have BBQ pits outside the doors. man first class now.
Just eat that BBQ fast because the room had lots of ants in them all over the counters but Bluegreen doesn’t charge extra to eat those on your plate they only charge I think a buck for arcade games for young kids so you have extra spending money there.
So that concludes the Tower of Terror tour I hope you enjoyed it because I wasn’t amused in the least, the van wasn’t broke into BTW. look at building ONE as a timeshare version of a holding cell without any guards that has a long green mile walk to freedom. stay far from this property, perhaps stay across the street at the Sheraton Vistana Villages or any of the Hilton Vacation Club Resorts as those from experience are heaven and this is Hell.
