Owners of Belton Woods timeshares often find themselves trapped in infinite contracts with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stems from a mis-sold timeshare contract. Over recent years there have been a number of groundbreaking rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts which have resulted in refunds and compensation. Many owners of Belton Woods Hotel timeshare contracts are entitled to, or have already made claims. Examples of complaints may be down to high increases in fees including maintenance fees, aggressive fee collection procedures enforced by the timeshare scheme and contracts committing owners to paying fees “in perpetuity’
Worst Q Hotel by a mile
As a regular user of Q hotels I was looking forward to my birthday treat at Belton Woods which my partner had organised for me.
Q hotels have a great business model and we have had regular enjoyable stays at Forest Pines, Oulton Hall, Staley Hall and
Aldwark Manor and they set the standard of expectationThis hotel is not in the same league which is such a pity as it’s a fabulous building, great golf courses and some really good staff.
However, when my partner ordered a bottle of bubbly and strawberries to the room and over two hours later, despite several calls……NOTHING !! Needless to say we cancelled the order and proceeded to dinner.
What an experience this was. A surly manageress ignored us standing waiting to be seated and went back to the table she was chatting with and a full ten minutes later returned. We eventually sat down and got presented with the menus. I asked if the A la carte was available only to be told ‘that’s it’ pointing to a single A4 sheet. Classy eh ??
The first two wine choices were out of stock and eventually in stepped a ‘breath of fresh air’ in Felicity who recommended a wine we had never heard of before. Great choice as it was excellent. The starters were both good and my partners main excellent. My ribeye (????) was the worst piece of meat that I’ve seen in a restaurant in years.
Ange our brilliant table waitress, conveyed my less than complimentary comments to the chef and to fair the cost was removed from the bill. What a let down after all the great dining experiences at other Q hotels. Management really want to get a grip as this establishment it’s quite clearly not up to the standard set by other Q venues
My partner was clearly upset as she thought the special day had not materialised as she anticipated. Doubt that will return to this place in the future
Regards to Ali (great character)Joel in the Pro Shop, Felicity and Ange in the restaurant. Finally, the Lakes course was great, played in brilliant sunshine and to two under my handicap so NOT ALL GLOOM AND DOOM

Hilarious attempt at a salad
Ordered the ‘heritage salad’ today for lunch before a meeting, Tomatoes, roasted onions, buffalo mozzarella and peppers.
What actually arrived is shown in photo below, very unappetising.
Just a huge tomato sliced on a plate with bog standard mozzarella decorated with 3 small lettuce leaves.
When i complained i was bought a bowl of tired looking leaves and a few bits of cucumber. Still no roasted onion or proper attempt to rectify this poor but expensive excuse for a salad.
The waitress looked put out that i didn’t want to pay £9 for a plate of tomatoes and then to make my own salad!! I sent it back and declined the opportunity for further disappointing food.
Really poor and inadequate standard of food and service for a 4 star hotel.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Due to work commitments, I have been attending this hotel for some time now and the quality and standards have been declining significantly over the last 12 months.
I am pleased that this trip will be my final stay at this hotel and I certainly will not be returning. I feel for the staff as they appear to be under-resourced and stretched. I have not eaten in the last 24 hours due to several problems that have occurred! And the comment from the chef was that agency staff were in the kitchen and orders have gone wrong! And in my case significantly wrong – as I ordered food at 7:30 and at 10pm I still had no dinner!
Everything is below par, the hotel is very dated and the food is atrocious!
Avoid at all costs.
Shocking!
Words can not express how awful the food is within this hotel. I have been using this hotel for the last two years and it has been decreasing its offerings and now it’s at the point, if you don’t want a carvery every night or carb overload from their bar menu there is no other choice of food! No a la carté menu anymore and when you are staying for over 5 nights this is abysmal. The chefs don’t seem to care about the food they serve and it’s basically slop on a plate. Avoid if you can!!!
Claret Jug
So sadly dated – happy to charge 4/5 star prices but severely needs cleaning as well as updating. Staff were superb – no qualms there. Ordered food – only customers – I wonder why? Seriously, Weatherspoon could offer better and that’s saying something
