First timers in Lanzarote
booked a 2 bedroom apartment in the Atlantic View resort. Accommodation great kitchen/living room and two bedrooms and two bathrooms patio area at front overlooking the pool. Some minor renovation required, but very clean and daily room service keeps all in order.
Location not bad short walk to a large array of shops, bars, restaurants and bus stop to all locations. Journey to shops, bars etc all downhill walks from Atlantic view but recommend taxi for return uphill.
Taxi easily available average price from main shops, bars back to apartment €2.40 to €2.70. Pool bar open from 9am for breakfast and bar service until 6pm, which is perfect, and the staff are great, special mention to Maggie the lady running the bar in the afternoons a Gem.
Very happy with location and service.
Never going back to this hellhole
A copy of the letter I sent to them… ps never received a reply..
Dear Sirs / Madam,
I am writing this email with great regret as to the hotel experience we received whilst staying at the Atlantic View Resort.
We arrived on the 26th December 2017…. No Factura 17879 No reserve 2443. Booked for 7 nights.
We have made our way to the reception, checked in and directed to our room. On the first floor, we noted a very distressed door leading to our apartment. This door had holes where temporary fixes had taken place ( please see the following pictures) this immediately made us feel unsafe and vulnerable.
Please see that attached pictures on the worst appliances in the apartment and I feel this may give you a better insight to the poor quality of the use of our room/ bathroom & Kitchen.
The power in the shower in almost non-existent and I have taken a picture to show the lack of water provided.
Please also note the mould in the bathroom this was all around the bath and shower unit ( please see the pictures )
One evening we came back to our room with no lights in the living area work, however, the nest day in the daylight we could see why ( pictures provided ) this is such a danger and unacceptable. No-one to call as reception closes at 5pm.
The pool bar ( well the advertised opening hours were 9am opening ) Well the 1st day the pool bar attendants was late and continually opening and closing the pool bar with no-one being able to access the times )
We were also advised if we could exchange money by the pool bar attendant which we found very odd indeed. The pool needed a deep clean indeed.
A lifeguard was not in attendance the whole time we were are at the hotel.
Our apartment was so cold we asked for the instructions to work the Air Conditioning unit/ heater, however upon asking we were advised maybe a portable unit may be located upon a FUTHER ADDITIONAL CHARGE….
It was at this point we felt we no longer wanted to remain at the hotel and promptly paid a further 500 Euros to move to Hyde Park Lane Apartments …
This was to be a very special holiday as it was my partners birthday and new year’s eve. I feel saddened I have been misled by the photos advertised and the apartment was not only dated but had mould dangerous lights, no heat no hot water and worse no- one we felt that we could talk to rectify these issues.
We feel our holiday was ruined as a result of this. Please advise how you hope to resolve our horrendous experience with Atlantic View Resort.
Absolutely disgusting
So where should I start?
So we have just booked Atlantic view resort and checked in yesterday Monday 16th October 2017.
We are family of 5 me and my wife and my 3 daughters 10, 8 and 7 months.
We are now currently £700 down as we had to leave this hotel and book another one it was that bad.
Before we came to this hotel I messaged them and told them my youngest daughter has severe allergies and we needed a clean room as I had seen one room on trip advisor that was very dirty. We were assured we wouldn’t get that room and they seemed very helpful. But low and behold we were checked into this room but as it was 9pm and the reception was now closed we had to stay the night.
Morning came after a very stressful night thinking and arguing about what we had done. (no one was at reception to complain to until 9am) we decided to find another hotel which we did first thing.
We have now moved all our luggage to our new hotel and we can now start enjoying our holiday.
When i checked us out of Atlantic view resort they didn’t seem to care and said we can’t really do anything, which I wasn’t surprised at to be totally honest. My youngest who I spoke about before has now come out in a massive rash all over her body which I have the pictures of and the receipt from seeing the doctor at a total cost of 170 euros.
Our issues were; broken floor tiles outside our apartment, the room stunk of smoke, cigarette burns and ash all on chairs, black stains on sofa, ants and bugs crawling on the dining table around the glass, dirty blinds in every room, the bathrooms were full of mould and smelt of drains and mold, the shower curtain was held up by string, the cot was placed near two plug sockets and a blind and could not put into the double bedroom due to lack of manoeuvring space. So we had to pull the cot out and stay in the twin beds room and our older daughters used the double bed. It was an absolute nightmare!!! And having no air conditioning and it being so hot with a baby was unbearable.
Thankfully we found suitable accommodation and we are now having an amazing time. Just like a holiday should be!!! But unfortunately, all we can now do is warn people of this place and let people know what it’s really like.
Please stay away from this hotel it’s a dump. And if you do decide to go don’t stay in room 3b where we was.
*YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED*
Lovely short break
Me and my husband stayed at the Atlantic View apartment complex for a long weekend at the end of September. The apartments were very clean and a really good size and worked perfectly for 2 people on a short break. The Pool was lovely and no need to fight over a sunbed. The nice thing about these small private apartments is it has a pool side bar with friendly staff.
The guy on reception was very helpful and gave us maps etc.. and made us feel very welcome.
The apartments are at the top of quite a steep hill, which didn’t bother us at all as we walk a lot anyway. Took about 15 mins to the old town which has some brilliant restaurants and about the same again to the new town.
All in all very good but basic apartments and we had a truly great weekend away.
fantastic Staff best customer service ever
although from the outside the hotel looks a little run down and out of the way the apartments have. everything you need and more.
From the gentleman that checked us into the ladies that cleaned our apartments everyone was brilliant and could not do enough for us, Lee the man that runs the bar is a gem helps you out whenever he can and cooks a mean breakfast. young Peter and the young girl that run the bar in the evening was great too
.I have stayed in hotels that have cost three times as much as The Atlantic View and the staff in the hotels should come and have lessons from the Atlantic View staff. We will most certainly visit again! This is not Stephens review I am his wife I went to Atlantic View with three friends last week and we can not give it enough praise.
Very good place to stay in Puerto del Carmen
The Atlantic view is a small complex and really pleasant for that – all staff whether it be Antonio (the man in charge), Lee (the guy who runs the Pool Bar) or the chambermaids, do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The accommodation centres around the pool. Our apartment was clean, pleasant and well serviced and really did have a view of the Atlantic Ocean. The unit is above the Old Town – we managed to get up and down between the complex and the Old Town without the need for taxis. There are some reasonable supermarkets and restaurants at the top of the hill. The complex is near the Balcon del Mar which is the main bus stop for several routes. We stayed in November when the lack of air conditioning was not a problem.
Lee and his wife serve drinks and hot snacks all day – the breakfasts are good and I was particularly fond of their bacon baguettes.
All in all a good place to stay in Puerto del Carmen.
