Amazing!
This is our second holiday to A5 Lago Verde apartment, and hope to return very soon! There are plenty of things to do and see either via bus, boat or even a taxi ride which are cheap enough if you’re too tired to walk back to the beautiful apartment. Watching the sunset whilst sitting on the veranda sipping on Lidl wine is a lovely, chilled experience.
The owners Gemma & Jamie answer any questions and respond very quickly. I WOULD highly recommend this apartment as it has everything for all ages. Whether you want to relax by the pool, stroll to the beach or wander around the local shopping mall – it’s got it all.
Even the shack by the pool is a lovely family run business.
Look forward to my next home from home holiday – Love It!!!
LAGO VERDE A6 apartment
Very clean apartment with views to die for .
prob the best apartment in this complex for a panorama sea and harbour view including in the distance to Fuerteventura.
based in the high slope of the old town , a gentle walk down to the harbour in around 5 mins .
taxi prices area round 3 to 5 euros from the main strip to the left of the harbour .
The pool is being upgraded as we speak and we knew about this when we booked , but it should be ready by mid July along with new bar food area .
John will meet and greet and attend to anything that should go wrong , like a kettle replacement or bed sheets replaced each week .
Nice man who has lived in Lanzarote for 30 years and speaks Spanish too so helpful to order a taxi back to airport at end of your stay .
You can catch the sea bus in the harbour to the next Puerto Calero, where we found a good Irish bar Mc sorelys , Sunday Carvery Lunch is very good Value.
Car hire firm on the same street we hired one for 5 days of our two week stay, plenty of parking around the streets and in front of apartments.
La Bamba Restaurant across the road very clean and typical lasagna pasta dishes with starter and two drinks for two people around 35 euros.
we found Marios and the Crafty Cow a bit run down, but good food and drinks.
I was informed by John that the apartment next year will be upgraded to a new kitchen and patio walling to replace the tiled planters which do look a bit worse for wear with a few cracked tiles, but the kitchen area is OK , I could not fault the apartment, only the cracked tiles and maybe the low water pressure in the shower , but you get that at most resorts in the Canaries .
one of the chairs was broken and not reported by the previous occupier which was not good if you break something inform John it is not the end of the world.
The owners have another water front apartment down in the Harbour and we enjoyed our stay that much in A6 that we have just booked two weeks in that harbourfront apartment for June next year .
Apartment A4 is terrible!
This review is solely for Apartment A4, as the rest of the complex was very nice and well maintained including the bar which was great.
Apartment A4 was grubby and is in dire need of refurbishment. The shower doors were barely holding on to the rails. There was dust and old hairs everywhere. The curtains were different lengths. The bedding was horrible. The TV plugs were a fire hazard. The outside furniture was dirty we had to clean it just to sit down outside. We didn’t feel it was clean enough to eat there so we ate out for every meal when we planned to buy food and cook meals there. The only good things were the view and size of the apartment. It could be such a good place if they spent a little time getting it up to standard. Instead, the owner just seems to be interested in making money. Will not stay here again even if it was free.
Please don’t let this put you off Lago Verde as the complex is very nice and in a great area. Just review the apartment you rent before you stay.
Apartment A5 Lago Verde Puerto Del Carmen
Spent a week at apartment A5 which is privately owned by Gemma & Jamie, from 4th -11th Feb with my wife and mother and can fully recommend it to anyone. The apartment is very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and has everything you could possibly need and is set in a very quiet and enviable penthouse position overlooking the harbour and old town with a 180 degree sea views and Fuerteventura in the distance.
A taxi from the airport costs around 15-18 Euros and drops you off right outside the apartment. It is set in a hilly location and it is a bit strenuous walking back up the hill after enjoying a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants in the old town but the views from the apartment more than make up for this and taxis are cheap. There are a couple of Dino shops close by for any groceries and La Bamba restaurant across the road is well worth a visit as is the Pool bar on the complex which serves great food in a friendly atmosphere and is great value for money. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and will definitely return.
summer vacation
just returned from 14 night holiday 13/8/2016 at Lago Verdi apartment B12 .Was recommended of this complex by my son and his future wife, My wife and I usually, go a/I Tenerife but decided to give it a try.
The apartment was a great size, good size lounge with t.v. DVD player plenty of books to read, bbc1 and ITV and a sports channel.
kitchen full sized hob and oven. good sized bathroom with walk-in shower and plenty of hot water. good size bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space. sheets and towels changed regularly. great size balcony which sun loungers were provided. and dinning table and chairs as you could dine outside. also, a bonus to this apartment is the washing machine.
Good size pool with pool bar which serves good food and very friendly family run it. the complex is close to bars and restaurants. the highlander is particularly good for breakfast if you don’t want to cook.
taxis are very cheap in or out of town at 3 euro. great walk to calero, wear goodfitting shoes and take water, take the boat back in which is very pleasant. The owners allowed us to stay later as we had a night flght. we were out in plenty time for the next holiday makers arriving a few hours later. We would highly recommend staying at this apartment in this complex
Penthouse
Four of our family recently stayed in the penthouse apartment at Lago Verde. It was a lovely spacious clean 3 bed, 2 bath apartment with a large terrace with tables, chairs and sunbeds and spectacular views. Some of the decor was a little tired but that was to be expected from a rental.
Everything we needed was there including a large selection of books and dvds which was a lovely touch. The apartment was cleaned by the maid once over the course of the week, no complaints there.
It is situated at the top of a fairly steep hill but with many restaurants a short walk away. It was ideally situated a short walk from the old town and marina. The pool had ample sunbeds and the pool bar was fairly busy during our stay, a popular place to go.
The bar staff were friendly and a special mention has to go to the guy working reception (sorry can’t remember his name!) who went out of his way to help us by giving us keys to an apartment after we vacated ours on the last day so we could have a shower before our evening flight. This small touch really put the finishing touches to our holiday. We’ll be back, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
A4 apartment - spacious, quiet & fantastic view
Just returned from a week in A4 apartment, Lago Verde apartments, Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote. We were blown away by the view – 180 degrees of the skyline across the sea towards Fuerteventura which made our holiday especially as there is a generous balcony plus sun lounger area overlooking the sea. We arrived after reception closed (8am – 4pm) but they had left the keys under the mat! Dumped our bags and went straight to ‘The Pool Shack’ (10am to 6pm) which was run by the very friendly Denis & Michelle – they left during the week to run a bar in Playa Blanca (good luck guys !).
The apartment is a good size with two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen-living room and hallway (with indoor garden !). The place was a bit worn but clean and functional, what more do you need – it was fine for us (a couple plus 17 year old son). There are towels (a bit thin) and a cleaner. We only relied on the kitchen for the basics – don’t bank on cooking any main meals here. No air conditioning but Lanzarote is very windy and as this apartment is high up it catches the breeze (and some!) so we were fine with windows open !
Its quite a steep climb from the harbour (10 mins) and a bit of a trek (30 mins) from the main beach (Playa Grande) but taxis are cheap (4 Euros from the beach) and plentiful. The restaurant (La Bamba) across the way is cheap and friendly and there is no shortage of places to eat near the beach – just watch out for the restaurant muggers who try to lure you into their place, very off putting ! Food prices vary but bank on paying in the region of 15 to 20 Euros per person for an evening meal – watch out for the bread roll trick as you will pay for it just say no thanks !! One recommendation – Cafe La Ola on the east side of Playa Grande – this has an eating area right by the sea, don’t stay in the upper restaurant go down the slipway and to the bottom – fantastic ! We didn’t want to leave and had our most expensive meal there – 95 Euros for the 3 of us but we were there for nearly 3 hours !
We hired a car for the day which was worth it – we probably paid more than most but we booked it via reception and the company collected us, took us to their office, we had the car 24 hours and left the key with Lago Verde reception – all very easy. We paid 33 Euros (in cash) for a 1.3L Toyota Yaris and spent another 10 Euros on fuel. On our day out we went to – Jarden de Cactus (worth an hours visit), Orzola (right in the north) and La Geria (the wine region).
We also used the bus – Intercity No. 03 – it cost 1.70 Euros each way to Arrecife (25 minutes) and 1.35 Euros to the other side of Peurto del Carmen (10 minutes). On the beach it costs 4 Euros per item – we hired 3 loungers and 2 parasols for the day total cost 20 Euros – a lot but worth it as the sun is fierce and don’t bother bringing your own as they will get blown inside out quickly (as ours did !).
To and from the airport we got a taxi which cost us 20 Euros each way – it’s very quick, 10-15 minutes. Enjoy your holiday – we are planning to return one day !
