Like a Warm Blanket - Nice and Comfortable, Not Fancy
We went on a ski trip to Steamboat Springs and found this place through a timeshare exchange.
Overall, the Village is well located, has acceptable and clean rooms, and overall met our needs.
The place is in need of updates (carpets, furnishings, etc.) which make it a bit dated. However, the rooms were fine and functional.
The shuttle service to the mountain was amazing and very easy.
We also used the free city bus to take us downtown for meals. It too was very easy to use.
So, if you do not need fancy and over-the-top accommodations, this place works well.
Clean, comfortable, well-located.
You can also store your ski gear at Christy’s for free if you stay here which was very convenient.

Clean and spacious rooms
We were very pleased with our stay at The Village at Steamboat. We stayed in bldg #4. The room was very clean and spacious with a relaxing jacuzzi tub.
The kitchen was large and it also had a washer/dryer. The front office provided us with shampoo/conditioner/lotion and plenty of coupons for activities nearby.
Being winter it was nice to park in the underground garage.
If you are skiing, a shuttle picks you up outside your bldg for the 6 min drive to the slopes. There is a grocery store nearby and a movie theatre and restaurant/bar within walking distance. We would definitely stay there again. I almost forgot…there was also an indoor pool and a few outdoor spas.
Great spot with friendly service.
We just returned from a great week at the Village at Steamboat.
Spacious 2 BR unit was great for my wife and I. Would have been plenty of room for another couple or our grandkids.
Shuttle to the mountain was great, short waits if any wait at all. Beautiful views of the mountain especially at night when it is lit up.
Only drawback was no shuttle to the town in the evening but Go Alpine shuttle and taxi service was a good alternative
Great property, close to ski hill, convenient!
We just stayed at the Village at Steamboat for an extended weekend last week. We stayed in Building 2. Our condo was on the 2nd floor and was exceptional. Our condo appeared to be fairly new or newly renovated because all of the furniture/amenities/kitchen were exceptional and offered everything we could have wanted.
We loved the proximity to the ski hill, easy to transfer on the shuttle bus to/from. In fact, one day I wished I’d grabbed my other lens for my goggles. My husband skied down from the top of the ski hill, back to the condo, and shuttled back and was back on the hill in less than an hour. Very close!
Drivers on the shuttle were super friendly and helpful.
The only thing we’d add was that the building itself was very warm. I tend to be very cold, so enjoyed the warmth, but will add that even for me, our room and building was very warm…so on occasion we’d open the patio door to allow cool air inside.
Garage parking is very secure.
Bed very comfortable, which is important after skiing all day.
This location is perfectly located to nearby restaurants, groceries, et al.
Very much enjoyed the property and would stay again! Very clean, exceptional property with attentive, friendly staff.
Not sure there aren’t better choices
We stayed here the week of Jan 25. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. We did arrive a couple of hours early and they were able to let us check in early. So that was a big plus. Check in was fairly quick and we were put in room 3110. The airport shuttle was kind enough to wait around a few extra minutes and take us to our room so I will give a BIG shout out to Storm Mountain Express for doing that.
I was really surprised that the resort doesn’t have a way of taking you to your room, considering that there are six different buildings. I would not have been happy lugging my luggage through the slush to the building. Our room was on the bottom floor. The unit had a decent size living room and kitchen. The master bedroom had a king size bed but there was very little drawer space for unpacking your suitcase. I ended up leaving everything in my suitcase. The 2nd bedroom had twin beds which was perfect as we had 2 children with us, but again, very little drawer space.
The hall bathroom actually had much bigger space than the master bath did. There was a small patio as well. But the master bedroom did not have access to it, only the living room and 2nd bedroom. Can’t say there was much of a view from the patio as we looked out on the parking lot and laundry facility basically. Building 3 had a hot tub right outside the end of the building.
The tub was located between building 3 and 4. It was a large size hot tub under a cover which was very nice. Never had a problem with it being too crowded as we have experienced at other resorts.
Also, if you went out the other end of the building, you were across from the main lobby building. Building 3 was the first pick up spot by the mountain shuttle and the 2nd drop off spot so I felt like it was the best building to be in. I do have to get a big shout out to Mr. Earl, the shuttle driver. He was wonderful! Always in a good mood and very sweet to our 5 yo, giving her knuckles when she got on. The other driver, not so much. There were times that the 2 shuttles would end up running right behind each other. Not sure why one of them wouldn’t wait a few extra minutes at a stop so that they were more staggered.
The units were never restocked mid week. We were told RCI members didn’t get that option. Didn’t make me want to come back to a Wyndham resort again. There was only 2 packs of coffee (1 decaf and 1 regular) that were put in the room to start you off, along with a standard size sample of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. We sent our son everyday to request more coffee and creamer and they did supply them each time he requested which I was thankful for. When we called and asked about the trash pick up they told us that housekeeping would pick it up in the AM.
When we got back from skiing, it was still there. When we called, we were told RCI members didn’t get trash picked up and were told where the trash receptacle was located outside the building. Hhhhmmmm.
That was probably in the small print when I booked the place, but there again, it does not make me want to choose to come back. My main complaint is that the shuttle only runs up and down to the ski resort and only until 5:30. There were several restaurants in the Gondola village area that we wanted to try, but we weren’t sure how we would get back to the resort.
They also don’t go into the town area where all the restaurants are located. There is a free city shuttle, but the stops are quite a walk away. One stop was in the Meadows parking lot which required you to walk out of the resort, across the street and through a huge parking lot to the bus pick up area. The other option was to walk out of the resort, through a parking lot, through a strip mall area and across the street.
Neither would have been much more than an inconvenience as adults and with older kids. But with a 5 yo who is tired from ski school, it seemed like a long trek. We ended up ordering delivery several nights because we just didn’t want to drag her out. Several people commented to us about they were surprised that the resort didn’t offer shuttle service into town.
So, if I came back to Steamboat, I would be looking at a resort that offered shuttle service both to the ski area and into town. The rooms were very clean upon arrival.
Fun, Sun, and lots of Baseball
The Wyndham Village at Steamboat is a large condominium complex of timeshare and rentals. It is very conveniently located on the outskirts of Steamboat and very close to the Gondola lift near the Sheraton Hotel. Our two bedroom unit was tastefully decorated and included a Murphy bed, in addition to the two bedrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped. Underground, covered parking is nice in the summer, but would be a godsend in the winter. Lots of restaurants close by if you don’t want to cook. The unit was very clean. The baseball diamonds for Triple Crown Youth Baseball are just across the street. Now if we could arrange for a few trees to be eliminated we could watch the games from our balcony (ha ha). There are outdoor and indoor pools and a generous size spa for times of relaxation. The resort staff are ALL extremely courteous and friendly. I would definitely return here next time my grandson plays in the Triple Crown Tournament.
