Whats a Reservation?!?!
**Disclaimer** I did not stay at this hotel, this review is based on the shady business practices that led to me not getting to stay there
After much research and debate with my wife, we booked this Hotel on 9/15/17 via Priceline’s express blind booking for 9/16/17. Took a 4 year old and 1 year old to their first trip to Disney and even though we live 2.5 – 3 hours away up in the Jacksonville Area, we decided to get the hotel so we could stay so the kids could see the fireworks.
Room information:
Room Price: $75.00/night
Number of rooms: 1 Room
Number of nights: 1 NightRoom Subtotal: $75.00
Hotel Fee1: $9.04
Taxes & Fees: $17.97
Total Charged Today: $92.97Total Cost: $102.01
As you can see, price was just right for offseason Disney Trip. Was supposed to be a condo style room so we could shut the kids in a different room from us.
Fast Forward, we go to Disney, have a great day, and get to the hotel shortly after 10PM to check in. I enter the lobby and I’m greeted by Front Office Manager Jacqueline whom informs me that the room is no longer available to me. I’m told that the reason the room was no longer available was that they had an “unplanned loss” of two of their suites this day due to the damages that were done by Hurricane Irma (Which conveniently enough they are finding 1 week later.) Also conveniently enough no efforts were made to contact me by either them or Priceline to say, “Hey Man, your hotel room is a bust” which would just mean (being 2.5-3 Hours away from home) I would just leave Disney earlier than originally intended.
Wanting to make good on it, Jacqueline offers to set us up in one of the sister hotels in the family over at Caribe Royale Orlando, where they would refund us what we would have paid at their hotel. Well, Caribe Royale’s Opening price for less room was $109, a quick perusal of Priceline and other travel websites say this would only be a base price as there would be more hidden fees associated on top of this.
The following is strictly a number of hypotheses of what may have happened in this current situation.
1) The Bait and Switch – Here’s something too good to be true to get you in the door, let’s take advantage of some poor sucker taking his family to Disney. :: insert sarcastic voice:: “Oh no we’re sorry we can’t let you stay here for something we should have discovered one week ago where our area was blasted by a CAT 4 Hurricane.” Here’s all the information for one of our sister hotels all neat and in a bow for you Mr Tuna
2) Welp, it’s 6 o’clock and this joker hasn’t shown up but I have random Joe and his family in the door and they want a room… what does this reservation word mean again?
Maybe the reason was legit, but it seems all too convenient that all the right stars aligned when I used Priceline’s blind booking. Well, we ended up driving home to Jacksonville because I was unwilling to continue to play this chain’s game and I felt alright to drive. Booker Beware of Diamond Resorts and their Orbit One Vacation Villas location.

Nightmare
This hotel was under renovation, after 2 days we were informed about this.
Rooms were noisy and the entrance was blocked by renovating crews.
Try to get satisfaction fro local manager and was offer a two days stays but they never got back to me…
I will never recommend the facility to anyone
Value for Disney Vacation
We were overall happy with our stay at Orbit One Villas however, there were a few things that could have made our stay much better. If we choose to stay here again, I would definitely request near the front and a room on the bottom level.
When we arrived, there were a TON of gnats in our room! Just when it seemed like they were gone, they would come out again when you tried to eat. That was possibly the worst part of our stay but it is Florida so I assumed it was the tenants before us or the weather attracted them. I probably should have requested another room. By the end of the week, it did improve.
We stayed on the 3rd floor with no elevator which isn’t terrible except trying to carry all your luggage up and down those few flights were a pain and when you walked the park all day and having to walk those stairs, it was tiresome.
The third floor also has sky windows which created extra heat in our room and sunlight that would blind you for particular parts of the day.
The pool in the back is very small. We went to the pool at the front because it was larger and had the slides.
The tub is awesome but don’t expect to have enough hot water to fill it. This was frustrating. I tried several times but each time it ran out of hot water before it was even half full. I like really hot water so maybe this wouldn’t be an issue for some.
Overall, our stay was good. We were close to all the parks and very close to Animal Kingdom. I prefer this area over many others in the area as there are multiple restaurants, Target, Publix, and they seem to be building a Walmart nearby. Check in was easy and quick. The room was overall clean.
Disappointed
My problem with this place,( even though it appeared clean) an experience I had.
was upon arrival.
Once we checked in and got our keys, we were directed to another desk. A lady there attempted to high pressure us for an appointment to ‘talk with us.’ I told her we would be there a week, and we had no interest in any sort of sales meeting. She offered $100. She went on and on. I started out saying, but no thank you’…how many times can you say ‘no thank you ‘ before getting angry?
Then we had roaches in our room.
The bathroom lavatories were all cracked up. I dunno, I’m just not used to some of the experiences I had there
Don’t stay here
Me and the family came to this condo to stay while we go to Universal Studios.
Months in advance we booked because they had RV parking and accepted service dogs.
The next morning security came up and asked us that RV’s were not permitted on the property and had to move it. That was just Monday.
Throughout the week we still haven’t received maid service which we are supposed to get daily and then they shut the water off with no notice. This is a terrible place to stay.
I wouldn’t want anyone to go through this.
Especially how close you are to Disney and all the other parks.
Very rundown, but close to Disneyworld
As an owner here who traded into a different week, I was not happy with the condition of the unit we were given.
Sliding glass door to the patio was extremely hard to open and close, the screen door was stuck.
This property has been going downhill for several years, and with the exorbitant maintenance fees we pay, it should be completely upgraded.
The pools are boring and small, so we spent most of our time at the Liki Tiki pools, which had a bar/restaurant right at the pool and a great interactive pool area for the kids.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The gym needs to be revamped.
One treadmill for that many units is not acceptable or sufficient.
It’s a nice, roomy unit, so if you can get a good price, it’s not a bad choice.
