There has been a huge rise in complaints and timeshare release enquires in recent months from clients with Diamond Resorts.
Many concerns revolve around the following factors:
If the agreement with Scottsdale Links Resort was sold “in perpetuity” or you were pressured into an agreement with little knowledge of the implications then you can claim against the resort or a timeshare release on the grounds of mis-selling.

Very Disappointing for a "Resort"
I had the displeasure to stay at Scottsdale Links Resort for two weeks, and was seriously disappointed.
It’s the little things, that just added up to too much. First, let me say the customer service was great, not a complaint there. However, the rooms, and I had two, were just bad.
I’ve travelled quite a bit, and have stayed at all kinds of hotels and resorts. I can always tell when a place is WAY overdue for renovation, as is the case at Scottsdale Links Resort. This place looks and feels like it hasn’t been remodelled since the 90’s.
Since we were there for two weeks, and being a timeshare owner, we had two different rooms. The first was a two bedroom, and the second a one bedroom. I found the same issues with both rooms.
Let me lay out the good things first, that’ll be a short list;
1. Customer service. Great on check in, very personable folks. However, each time I contacted someone to complain, they seemed to have heard it all before and were almost embarrassed to explain there was nothing they could do.
2. The shower! Of all things, I found the shower in each room to be the best part. Great water pressure, great heat. I mean, GREAT pressure!
3. Space. Both rooms were very spacious and open.Now for the bad;
1. Bathroom configuration. I’m about 5′ 11″, and I could literally have peed in the bathroom sink, that’s how low it was. Shaving was chore as I was bent over cause the mirrors were so low. The lighting was bad, the light was centered a good two feet from the sink. Just old configuration and poor design.
2. Living room furniture. Both rooms had the absolute most UNCOMFORTABLE furniture I’ve ever sat in. I mean this is a “Resort” right? I had to use pillows from the bedroom just to make the couch comfortable enough to sit in. Not like I spent a lot of time there, but come on. When the kitchen table chair is the most comfortable piece of furniture, something is wrong.
3. Bed. Just bad, old, hard. I didn’t even want to pull the sheets back to see what real shape it was in.
4. The carpeting. Was three years past its useful point, and so dirty it was disgusting. I would not walk on that carpet without shoes.
5. Of all things, the TV. This is 2018 right? They had 2, I mean literally 2 channels that came in HD. I even called to have it fixed, cause this can’t be right. Sure enough, I was told they have analogue tv… WOW.
6. Parking. Not enough, and very small spaces.
7. Outdoor grills. I decided one day to try to grill some burgers. The grill was not functional, nor was the one next to it, as was told to me by the family that attempted to do the same.I’m not a big complainer, really I’m not. I just expect a certain level of comfort and service, and this place did not deliver. In one of my conversations with the front desk, I was told that there are 9 buildings due for renovation this year. Really, 9 out of 14? That tells me that the owner just doesn’t care, and is counting on the timeshare community to bail them out.
I come to Scottsdale every year for the Arabian Horse Show and was hoping this place would be my go to. Not a chance.
My advice, stay somewhere else. Scottsdale Links Resort is a dump.

Phoenix Open Stay
We stayed at the Scottsdale Links Resort while attending the Phoenix Open.
This is a Condo complex within walking distance to the entrance of the Phoenix Open (although a bit of a long walk).
The one bedroom was a nice size, however, was a little worn down.
Carpet needed to be replaced, walls had been “touched up” with paint that didn’t quite match so you could see all the touch-up spots.
Towels were a bit dingy.
The pool area is nice enough but doesn’t really have the “resort” feel that we were looking for. Concierge left multiple voicemails trying to get us to “sign up” for things. That was annoying.
The Links Revisted
Diamond Resorts must really be slipping.
This property has great potential, but attention to detail is seemingly non-existent.
We had a pleasant and friendly check in experience, but learned we had a 3rd floor unit.
Given the resort has no elevators this was a problem for us given our kitchen/food needs. On entry into our unit, we noticed the carpet in the entryway was torn. Our unit was aligned in such a way that the only view was of adjoining buildings, something one would expect in an East Coast Tenement not at an upscale resort. Kitchen utensils were sparse and the knives provided were so dull my wife cut herself.
There were too many other issues to list. To name just a few: a toilet seat that did not fit the commode and would not stay upright, a shower curtain rod that was bent resulting in a curtain that would not close and keep water off the kitchen floor to shower water temperature that was substandard until the last moments of one’s shower.
The most annoying issue was the increase in early morning and late evening aircraft noise (private jets and planes) from the Scottsdale Airport near-by. This causes one to wonder who builds a resort in the landing pattern of an airport? We won’t be returning to the Scottsdale Links, there are plenty of other good resort options in Scottsdale…
Deception beware!
Beware! Booked this timeshare in July for December for a Christmas gift for Canadian girlfriend’s family to come from all over North America. (Three bedroom condo for two weeks) They have a two year old and a three year old.
Could have booked anywhere through Interval International ( I own three timeshares) but chose this place because they have a splash pad and two separate pools so sisters could have some down time away from the kids while grandparents took them to the big children’s pool. Went to pool on third day and it is closed for the rest of the week for maintenance?
They said everyone can use the small adult pool! Or pack the babies in SUV and drive 10 minutes to sister resort and use their pool. Does this sound relaxing to you? I called Diamond and was on the phone with them with 45 minutes and they blamed Interval international for not telling me! I called Interval international and they blame Diamond!
Either way I am screwed and that peaceful not leaving the resort getaway from the kids week isn’t happening. Both Diamond and Interval International upper management was suppose to call me back yesterday but guess what? Never called me! So disappointed this well planned out quiet vacation booked in advanced is totally screwed because I was never told of the resort’s plan to shut the children’s pool down for the week I am traded in here! October 10th is when Scottsdale Links Resort told Interval international that the maintenance on the main pool was happening. I booked in July! Both refuse to compensate me for their screwing me out of the peaceful stay at home vacation week I had planned for my girlfriends family away from their children! Bah humbug!
OMG the noise!
Wow! What a disappointment. We will NEVER stay at a Diamond Resort again! This place does NOT care about your happiness or well being – all they want to do is sell timeshare stuff. Why don’t you take care of your guest’s needs first?
Our unit was RIGHT on this crazy busy 4 lane street called Bell Ave., a main vein to the local highways. Our unit was seriously 5 feet away from this busy road on the first floor. We could hear revving trucks and motorcycles all day (and night) long! And there was a sidewalk in between our unit and this busy road. How fun to have people wave at us when we are sitting at our kitchen table in our pyjamas eating our cereal:( We asked about 5 times to move to another unit since my dad has insomnia and he was not getting any sleep (none of us were sleeping well by the way).
They kept giving us lip service, saying we were “next on the list to move”. So we proceeded to live out of our suitcases for the first 3 days, convinced they would move us. Well, after many calls and visits to the front desk (where they acted like we were pests), they never moved us. On top of that, I am convinced we had a herd of dancing elephants above us which were running around all night. My dad ending up falling ill (from lack of sleep?) and stayed in bed all week. On Tuesday, which was a surprise to all of us, we were all out of our unit enjoying the day and left my dad behind to try and get some sleep and in walks in our maid as this was our weekly housekeeping day. Since we had never received notification of any daily activities, we had NO idea this was happening! So of course my dad did not sleep that day either. We never felt part of the resort as we had never received an itinerary ( that was a first for me).
The floors are disgusting! Our white socks turned black. And the units need some major repairs.
Our “balcony” was also on Bell Ave., so of course we never could use it. And being from Michigan during a deep freeze, I would have enjoyed using my balcony.
Every time we went into the office to ask to move, the vultures would attack us and harass us about sitting in on a timeshare meeting. I am so sad that that is their only priority. We have NEVER been treated like that at any other timeshare. They just did not care and had multiple excuses for not moving us. Of course, they called us many times to go to a timeshare meeting but NEVER about something helpful. I am sad that my dad did not enjoy this vacation and had to return home in order to get some sleep. This is NOT a place that feels like home!
The ONLY thing I can say is that have a nice pool. But the front desk staff is rude and they do NOT care about your needs.
