Let Mercantile Claims help you with Diamond Resorts Timeshare Release, Claims & Compensation
Owners of Diamond Resorts timeshares often find themselves trapped in infinite agreements with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stem from a mis-sold timeshare agreement. In recent years, there have been some ground-breaking rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts leading to refunds and compensation. Many owners of Diamond Resort timeshare agreements are entitled to or have already made claims.
There has been a huge rise in timeshare release enquires and complaints from clients with Diamond Resort timeshares.
Many concerns revolve around the following factors:
So gross, so uncomfortable
Our hotel room for Coachella was an absolutely terrible experience. The hotel hasn’t been updated since 1970 (and not in a cool hipster way), the beds were like rocks, the sheets like sandpaper, the water pressure in the shower like a water fountain, but we were trying to make the best of this dump because I know everything was sold out and very expensive, plus this was pre-paid.
The air conditioning would turn off at night and I would wake up sweating. The room temperature was 87 degrees! I lowered the thermostat to 72 so it wouldn’t freeze, and the sound the AC made sounded like a fleet of trucks in my room. I barely got any sleep the first night because of the heat and the noise. We told the hotel about it and they said it would be fixed. The next night when we got back to the hotel really late, we were exhausted. The air was left on all day, but it was about 80 in the room. I lowered the AC again, this time the noise wasn’t happening, but about 4 am I woke up sweating again and the room was at 87.
Let’s also mention the repulsive hairs stuck in the shower door and screws all over the bathroom (photo attached).
The room was dirty, so uncomfortable, nothing worked, and I couldn’t sleep with the heat, so we decided to leave a day early and drive home Sunday night. I couldn’t stand another night in the hotel.
They said they would have refunded me, but since it was booked by a 3rd party, I had to reach out to them. They took off my $10 resort fee (not sure what that was for because the WIFi was slower than dial-up). We really need to get that last night refunded since I couldn’t even consider sleeping there. We checked out around 10am Sunday morning.
The only good things I can say about MARQUIS VILLAS RESORT is that the employees at the front desk were very nice, and the location was good.

Pros first, since there are not too many
Pros – Comfy bed, large bathroom (2 sinks, 2 toilets, lots of mirrors), nice pool area.
Cons – Parking – I called ahead and was told they could accommodate our Ram truck and 18′ trailer, so I cancelled another reservation that was a little more expensive – they could not accommodate.
Carpet in the hallway – disgusting (many spots, smells, terribly worn).
A/C didn’t work well – finally, after a number of calls and visits, someone came and put in freon. Then it worked.
Room cleaning – doesn’t happen unless you are staying over 5 days, but they don’t tell you that, so be sure and save your towels.
Back entrance – key opening doesn’t work and you have to walk all the way around – it is far, we were told by 2 people who work there that it hasn’t worked for a long time – why wouldn’t they fix it.
Not so great anymore.
We went there for 2 nights. Looking forward to it. What a disappointment. First, when waiting to check in, the female that was working the desk (10/21/18 approx. 1pm) got done with a couple in front of us. Saw us waiting, got on the phone to talk to an obvious co-worker. Just talking about the day, nothing important, finally when she saw my angry look she told the person that she would call them back in a bit and helped us.
In the room, still the same VERY uncomfortable furniture. The couch is VERY uncomfortable, not fun to sit on at all. I bet if they offered the couches to people for free they wouldn’t want them. And if they took them, got them home, they’d quickly get rid of them.
There were 3 long brown hairs on the bathroom floor. Gross. I am assuming that the floor got cleaned and they got missed? There are 2 toilets, both were running. The smoke alarm started beeping in the middle of the night. There is a sign above the a/c thermostat that says something to the effect of “if you want no problems, keep a/c at or above 72. So if you want to be more comfortable at night and set it to 70, there might be problems? We risked it, put it at 70, and had no problems.
I think it is their way of trying to save money to try to bully people into not being comfortable.
They do not vacuum the hall. ever. Gross. The tv remote did not work, had to get maintenance to change it out. Where you put the soap for the dishwasher, the lid was gone. The dishwasher was extremely old. Cindy at the front desk brags about being there 14 years, but I think it is because she can’t get promoted.
She was argumentative and brash. Not someone I want to deal with again.
The male that worked at the front desk with her on Monday 10/21/18 was very nice. As was the guy that worked the evening shift. There was dried paint all over the bathroom floor near the shower stall that was dried.
Just so much worse than the last time here when I gave it 4 or 5 stars.
Shabby accommodation that’s not been updated for years!
The beautiful pictures marketing this property are by no means current in representing this establishment accurately. The carpets are stained and dated.
The sunbeds are stained and dirty and the pool area has crumbling concrete that’s clouding the pool. The toilet blocked up 2x in 2 days! The place is unloved and the staff are in denial.
It may be acceptable for the 28-30 age group who want a bachelorette weekend but not acceptable for the seasoned traveller.
In need of serious restoration.
This Diamond is very rough
What a pity that this Diamond resort has so many challenges because it’s location–mere steps away from downtown Palm Springs–is a great location.
Staying for 10 nights, some of these deficiencies moved from mildly annoying to major irritants:
1. There is no working phone system throughout the resort.
2. When I arrived in my ground floor room, the patio door was unlocked (if I hadn’t noticed, “visitors” could readily come in).
3. The floor-to-ceiling blinder walls both got stuck on the track, so I had to squeeze in and out to enjoy a morning coffee on the patio.
4. The kitchen sink stopper did not live up to its name.
5. Mastering the shower faucets required a visit from housekeeping (no instructions to say “You must turn on the cold before turning on the hot”.
6. The hallway carpets have long passed their best before date.
7. With each suite containing a full kitchen, it was astonishing that there were no placemats or proper napkins for those of us who like to cook.
8. The Internet is extremely unreliable: once I had to stand in the lobby for an hour to download a file.
The saving grace, however, is the staff who know full well what the deficiencies are, but there is nothing they can do about most them. Their constant smiles and happy demeanour helped sooth the frustration. Here’s hoping MARQUIS VILLAS RESORT management will take it upon themselves to bring this very rough diamond back to the status of a gem.
Filthy Place
I checked in on July 23rd and the room they gave me was on the third floor. The skylight had dirt coming down the glass. Then the room had two closets in it with dirt all over it. One was where the air came in.
There was a pile of dirt or mould in it with air blowing on me. No filter and no machinery in it to control the air.
I could not sleep because I had difficulty sleeping and coughing.
I called the front desk three times no answer. My boyfriend finally got them and they said that the maintenance people would be in the morning. We had a timeshare presentation the following morning and when we got back it was afternoon.
They put in the equipment and moved us to another unit on the first floor.
The first floor had the worst carpeting that I have ever seen in a timeshare.
They just buy foreclosures and put people in them not fixed.
