HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED
This was my first experience with Diamond Resorts. My husband and I were HIGHLY disappointed from the moment we booked with Diamond. I totally feel like the Diamond Resorts Sampler Package is a complete scam and I felt like we were baited and switched from the time we signed.
As far as the Desert Paradise Resort, it was a gated nice condo complex not far from the Las Vegas Strip. The resort was clean and quiet. That is about the only positive things I can say about it.
There is no food/cafe or anything of the sort on site. It would have been nice if we had the option of grabbing something quick. We were only in Vegas for a long weekend so we did not want to do any cooking for ourselves. It was too short of a visit to spend time in the condo. Plus we chose not to rent a car and had to Uber around to get from place to place, so grocery shopping was not really an option for us.
We also checked in relatively late on a Thursday night. We were not given a welcome packet or any information about the condo or about Vegas. We did not even know there was a welcome packet until the next day when we inquired about the shuttle.
I personally feel like we should have been “wined and dined” to get us to convert to owners. At no time, did I feel special about being in the Desert Paradise Resort nor did I desire to become an owner.
Needless to say, we did not sign at our meeting nor do we intend to sign at our next meeting. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!

Visit was ok, problems started after the visit
After I visited Desert Paradise Resort by Diamond Resorts, I started getting phone calls from Diamond Resorts salesmen to my cell phone at most inconvenient times. They were offering me to stay at their other locations in places where I would never go to. I have received at least 20 calls from them.
Never again
My wife and I used some points we had left over from diamond resorts to book this room, OMG never again. I give it 2 stars because the room was nice, but the bed was uncomfortable not to mention the people above us were noisier than a park full of kids with all the stomping, bumping, fighting, and screaming. I’ve never stayed at a property as bad as this one, I do not recommend it, and would never stay here again.

Beware, the safe is not safe!
I have written many reviews over the years, but never given a resort a one star. If it is possible to give this place a no star, I would.
My spouse and I travel to Vegas at least twice a year and have stayed at many resorts off and on the strip, but this 11 day stay was for business purposes only. We needed a place that had a full kitchen and washer and dryer and after doing my research, I settled on Desert Paradise Resort.
Upon walking in the unit, it was very nice and well appointed. The carpet was absolutely filthy, so we made a trip over to Walmart and purchased slippers. This was no big deal. I will be the first person to tell any traveler to NEVER bring anything of value to any hotel. It is sad that anyone would come into your unit and steal, but unfortunately, this is the world we live in.
This particular trip, I decided to bring my pearl & diamond earrings because of a business dinner my husband and I would be attending. As soon as we arrived back to the resort, after this dinner, I put my earrings into the safe, along with my ipod, laptop and flat iron. Anything of value. Whenever we left the resort, we would lock the safe with our made up code. No problems until the evening before we checked out, we couldn’t get into our safe. The code we use is the code we use for just about everything. We played around with the safe for over 5 minutes and decided we needed to call the front desk and tell them that something was wrong. My husband decided to try the code and press the star button and suddenly it opened!! We were relieved.
Everything seemed to be fine inside of the safe, so no problem. We emptied the safe and checked out the next morning. It did not dawn on me until we were on the plane back home that I didn’t have my earrings. Seeing that I am not an earring wearer, just for special occasions do I normally wear these special earrings, I didn’t even miss them. After getting off the plane, I immediately called the resort and spoke with head of security. Before accusing anyone, he said they would check lost and found and get back to me. I already knew what the outcome would be and I already knew when the theft happened.
My husband and I have always wondered if these resorts had some kind of “master code” to open your safe and we definitely got our answer. That evening when we could not open the safe and eventually pushed the star button and it opened, told us that someone had been in our safe. What angers me even more is that this resort claimed that they questioned two people who entered our room to clean it on the same day. Why would two people enter your room at different times on the same day to clean? The security guy I spoke with was helpful, but really did not answer my questions, so I trust no one there. They are not even offering me anything to compensate for my lost. I received a letter from there head offices and they denied my claim and basically said they believed there housekeepers. The earrings were worth no more than $100, not a huge deal, but it is the principal. How dare anyone come into your room twice in one day and steal something IN THE SAFE and the resort does not offer you so much as we are sorry.
Diamond Resorts International has lost a customer and I suggest anyone staying here to not trust the safe and do not trust management to help. We were actually thinking about purchasing a time share at one of there other resorts, but no way! I feel violated in every since of the word to know that someone (two times in one day) went through our unit and rifled through our things, broke into the safe and took something that was not theirs and the management department says, too bad. Management exact words were, “Our investigation revealed that the earrings were not located after your check out, so the resort is not responsible for personal property”. Again, the safe here is not safe! Shame on you Diamond Resorts and never again.
Just ok.
I stayed here as a part of my timeshare. We had a one bedroom. While the room was ok I wouldn’t say for me it was one of the best places in terms of amenities that I have stayed. This was my first time using my points with Diamond Resorts. I would just rate it ok. If I come to Vegas again I probably would opt to stay at my other timeshare with Wyndham at Grand Dessert.
Not a diamond
Firstly, I did not know this was a Diamond resort. We booked through travel group.
I received a phone call one week prior to trip “inviting” us to a sales promo…More about this later. We arrived at the resort around 11:30 am and was told check in would be at 4 pm.I gave my phone number in case room was available earlier. Throughout our stay the staff was terrific. Kudos to Kimberly, Michael, John, and Pat who were just wonderful and accommodating I asked for a bottom apartment close to the adult pool..we were travelling with my elderly mother and I thought it would make our life easier.
When we checked in..(early) our room was bottom but as far as possible from the pool as possible. The rooms were fantastic..nice kitchen..tvs, etc..everything was first rate..
Now the bad stuff….our door was across from resort dump. There were discarded mattresses and a big cat.
Garbage was piling over the top. Why would a DIAMOND resort have garbage next to rooms?
Next, our patio faced the main street, my bedroom also faced the main street.
Next, there are two pools at this resort one for children and one for adults…the children’s pool was being repaired while we were there.
The adult pool is quite small and now was teeming with children. Okay, I get it but do the children have to swim with pampers, do the fathers have to play ball with their children in an overcrowded pool?
There is a hot spa but guess who occupied it …the children…the signs talk about age restrictions but I can assure you that was not followed…No one seems to care…
We went to the meeting about possibly purchasing units or whatever it is called…don’t waste your time unless you are really prepared to buy…total waste of time and energy..
Oh, by the way, there is a 40.00 refundable fee you have to place with diamond before you go…..pass pass…..I left sunglasses behind I have called the resort twice and each time I was promised security would call me back….not yet.
In summary beautiful people, beautiful resort but I am sure you can do better than Desert Resort. It is not paradise and it is not Diamond…
