This ruling along with other significant judgments have meant that customers are entitled to timeshare releases and claims against resorts such as Club La Costa under the following circumstances:
In recent months there has been a ground-breaking ruling against Club La Costa in which a client was given a complete refund of the purchase price along with a proportion of maintenance charges, his agreement was cancelled and he was granted a timeshare release.

Joined CLC 10 Years Ago
We joined club la Costa 10 years ago and at first, had no trouble booking for when we wanted to go.
Paid extra for peak season so we could go when the children were on school holidays.
For the last approx 4 years we have had nothing but trouble trying to book for the school holidays.
We have paid for 2 bedroom accommodation and yet we can seem to get it
The last holiday we took we had to have a 1 bedroom for 4 of us, bearing in mind our girls are now teenagers and I reiterate we paid for a two-bedroom for the package we took out 10 years ago.
I have paid my yearly fees two months early and yet I still can’t get a two-bedroom for two weeks in July or August for next year. The only place I am offered is turkey, I’d don’t want turkey!!!
After loving clc for so many years I am very dissatisfied.
Numerous phone calls get me nowhere.
An exclusive club I don’t think so, not after seeing club la Costa apartments on the likes of booking.com and other holiday websites, we paid a premium for a service that we are not getting

Hard Facts all that glitters is not gold
CLC sell their memberships for all there accommodations as 3 or 4 standards. What you see in one place, you are told, is standard at all CLC resorts. However, the accommodation you are shown around at the sales pitch is far superior to the quality you get once you book and are a member.
Some of there accommodations have not been updated since 1985 we have been told. The only way we got out of the tired dated accommodation was to complain that this was not what we were shown during the sales pitch, it wasn’t what we expected and wasn’t what we were prepared to put up with for the amount of money paid for the membership.
If you don’t complain you don’t get. It shouldn’t be this way as we were considering upgrading our membership but on further experience and investigation, we decided we can get more for our money elsewhere.
Please do your research, don’t give into there aggressive sales pitches ie “this is the only day you will get this deal” they will still give you a deal in 2weeks time. All that glitters is not gold.
If you do stay at club la costa world, make sure they put you in the updated suites in Sierra Marina as these are very good quality
Holiday at Sierra Marina
Holiday at Sierra Marina, CLC World
The two bed apartment was small and smelly. The furnishing was old and outdated. The sofa bed was broken and could not be used. One of the showers was so tiny we couldn’t use it. Must have been allocated a wrong apartment as couldn’t check-in.
Clc visit
We became members of Clc after a sales show a year ago. we wanted to book our free sales visit to Tenerife as we were told in the sales pitch we could have it when we wanted
When we called to book Tenerife, we were told we couldn’t go there till the following year. So we had to take Spain which would not be as warm, a 10 degrees difference!
The accommodation is lovely but the site is tired looking and could do with updating.
We were sold coming in November would the same as any other time we have got to site only two restaurants open and limited transport around the site and we weren’t told this before arrival
I have concerns that as members we won’t be able to have bookings when we want in the future and how far in advance we have to book for these
It’s meant to be a five-star site but it falls short of that on this site and I am disappointed.
Disappointed
CLC apartment disappointment
Tiny compact apartment / polar difference to what is advertised when recruiting you. / Only 1 bathroom supposedly for 6people. Was cramped for 4people, let alone 6. Don’t get involved, as not worth the price for what you receive
Service Lacking
Customer service is seriously lacking and resorts are really not up to the standards advertised
I have had these points for many, many years now, and in all that time, have taken 3 vacations using them. Two were a total disaster, and one was good. Not a great track record.
I tried to book the “good” resort for next year and get told that I have to book at least 2 years in advance because there are no units available. I went online and found that I could book with cash for half the cost of what it is costing me for the points each year, and exactly the types of units I wanted. So I went back to CLC and they informed me that only a few of the units are for members, the rest they keep for people who are going to pay cash to book. Again, they see nothing wrong with this and it isn’t their problem.
So if you want a company that actually cares about its members or the condition of its resorts, look elsewhere, far away from CLC World who will happily take the exorbitant annual fees they charge, but give you absolutely nothing in return.
