After the ground-breaking ruling passed by the Spanish Supreme Court in 2015, customers were refunded 40,000 euros and granted timeshare releases – after timeshares were mis-sold.
This ruling along with other major judgments has meant that customers are entitled to timeshare releases and claims against resorts such as Club La Costa under the following conditions:
In recent months there has been a ground-breaking ruling against Club La Costa in which a customer was given a complete refund of the purchase price along with a proportion of timeshare maintenance fees, his contract was cancelled and he was granted a timeshare release.

TREATED UNFAIRLY
Hello people, my family have been defrauded by this company CLC WORLD.
They charged us £5000 for 6 holidays. We took 1 Holliday.
We called them this evening to arrange for another Holliday surprisingly, we were told we never had a membership with them.
PLEASE BE AWARE. they are…

Do not come near this company: Scammers!
We got informed we were the winners of a draw and invited to collect our prize of a gift voucher up to £75 and a presentation of the prize and made to feel really important.
We arranged a day off and went to collect this prize of a free holiday and gift card for the trouble of coming to the office. When we got there we realised we were 1 of about 30 winners….immediately dubious.
We were then taken through a brainwashing presentation with salesmen that tried desperately to be funny charming and tell us investing 17k on a glorified timeshare scheme is the best answer for you to sign right now.
We were then given a gift card .. which we later discovered had zero balance on it with no receipt for it. I contacted the office and Vicki White offered apologies and said send the card and she will investigate .. she did and sent me a card for £25.. then accused me of lying and saying I signed for 3 cards at £25 on each one and she is replacing one. Basically very different to the original conversation I had with her .. and also very rude in her response.
So all in all, they are completely corrupt and not to be trusted!
Dreadful, poor standard, poor facilities
I’m writing this on my phone data as the WiFi is not working and has been poor all week in this so-called luxury apartment at CLC.
Kitchen poorly equipped, bed so incredibly hard had to request extra toppers and still haven’t slept comfortably all week. Furniture tatty. TV choice is dreadful with no channel suitable for children and no DVD player. All pools freezing cold except one small overcrowded heated one with inadequate seating around it to watch the children from.
Sales talk was 4 hours long, tediously boring and insulting the way they ask loaded dead-end questions and don’t respect what you say. Asked to leave after 3 hours to be told yes if you pay full price for your accommodation. It wasn’t even worth the promotional rate we paid so we sat it out for another hour before they let us leave. Children were supposed to have been entertained but they were bored and not given face painting as promised as the paint had run out.
Very poor choice of children’s club entertainment and the ratio of staff to children low. Went to cake icing there was a single member of staff to 15 bored looking young kids. Turned away as we were late even though they hadn’t started yet. Lady was rude to us and not engaging the children at all.
Can’t think of anything positive at all I’m afraid busy a waste of taking time off work to come.
Air BnB offers far more flexibility and better deals in better resorts. Can’t imagine who wastes their money taking on debt to buy into this place.
An awful place - beware not to spoil your holiday
I don’t know who is intended to live in this hell… I am here with a child on his holidays, but we can’t have a rest here – our neighbours are so loud and the management doesn’t seem to care. If you want to have a rest – never come here!
The apartment itself in the California section is situated very far from the beach and there is nothing to do here without a car. No shops, no entertainment.
The rooms are very small and the noise from the neighbours is just so strong – there is no chance to sleep if you want to. The swimming pool is very small and crowded even during the low season – no privacy at all.
The restaurant is very slow and the quality of the meals is definitely not good. If you intend to buy any realty here just think twice – no nature here, bad quality of the rooms and no privacy at all – too many people.
This will be the worst holiday I ever had and I intend to drop my membership here. Beware, never go here!
Disgraceful
Checked into our apartment and checked out the next morning. What a disappointment! Had to park so far down the road from our apartment it was pointless having a car ? finally get in and the kitchen was wide enough to touch each wall, I kid you not! If you open the fridge you can’t…
Dated and Disgusting
What a shame! Located on a beautiful stretch of the Mediterranean, this place should be a slam-dunk. Checking in early was allowed (and appreciated), but after finally finding my unit (#6 in Marina del Mar), it took about 2 minutes to contact the front desk and ask to be given another unit.
Why? The unit was on the third floor with no lift (elevator) and was right on the highway. The noise was ever-present. Décor – forget about it! Ease of access to anywhere else on this expansive property – get your hiking shoes on. TIP – DO NOT – I repeat DO NOT accept a unit in Marina del Mar unless you are used to staying in cheap hotels on the Mexican border.
So I was given another unit. At first, much better (and more modern and recent) than #6. After about 10 minutes in the unit with the doors and windows closed, however, the smell of something (akin to sewage) was ever-present and as I write this the next day, it has not left the unit despite opening doors and windows.
I have written several reviews – and I don’t want to conclude this one without something positive to say. But first! Oh yeah, want to work out? Good luck finding the place and don’t forget to bring your 10 euro a day (ridiculous) and finally, pull out the wallet to pay for utilities for the week (about 30 euro for the week I think).
Oops, back to the positives about CLC World. It’s close to the airport.
If you’re exchanging into this part of Spain, try to get a stay at either of the Marriott properties (in Marbella or Estepona (Playa Andaluza). Both beat the hell out of CLC World for accommodations without nickel and diming people.
