My stay at Vacation Village
The resort is lovely, the grounds well kept and the staff very warm and accommodating. The only complaint I would have is the seating at the pool. Though chairs can only be held for 45 minutes, most guests took advantage and if you were not down by 9 am there were no seats available. Not being much of a morning person, this was quite unnerving but I survived!
We have stayed at many of Vacation Village’s locations and have always find them in really good condition, with excellent service. They are a really good place to stay. We had a one bedroom in the Ibis building with a partial kitchen (hotplate and convection oven/microwave) on the fourth floor overlooking the Bonaventure pool. It was more than adequate for the two of us. Really nice facility.
Vacation Village at Weston
Good south east Florida location. Lots of well kept units. Easy access to highways leading to the Everglades, beaches, shopping, entertainment venues, etc. The only thing lacking is it that it is not located right on the beach.
I have stayed at Vacation Village at Weston 2 years in a row now. The place is beautiful. The grounds around the resort are well kept. I have had an A & B unit both times I have stayed there. I take friends with me every year and we have a girls week in Florida. It’s a nice break from winter in Pennsylvania. Everything in the units is up to date and the furniture including the beds are very comfortable. We did have an issue with the one toilet but it was fixed promptly so no complaints there. The staff is very friendly as well. The resort is only 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale, or Hollywood, and only an hour or so from Miami or West Palm Beach so there is lots to do. A nice drive out through the keys is easy to do as well from this location. I would definitely recommend this resort to others and I will also be staying there again in the future
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING
Before deciding to vacation at the Vacation Village at Weston, do your homework. It is located right off the highway. Noise was noticeable. The over-crowded pool necessitated that you be in line prior to 8:00 am in order to reserve lounge chairs (despite what signs say about not saving chairs). This “resort” was a step up from a Super 8 motel, and a step down from Clarion Suites. Certainly not at the level of a Mariott, or even a Hilton. Perhaps a Red Roof Inn or Econolodge. Certainly not at a gold-crown RCI level. The pool area was not well maintained (used food wrappers on the ground, etc.) On the positives, there is a shuttle that will take you within a 3 mile radius of the resort. There are good restaurants from which to choose in the area. Absolutely, we recommend saying NO to the gift card in exchange for listening to a free breakfast or lunch and listening to updates on the resort. Nothing is free! There is high pressure and it is a typical “try and get you to increase your exchange power” presentation. Unless you want to spend 2 hours of your vacation that way. Some people report that the nearby tennis and golf makes it worth staying there. The furniture in the B units is dated (and no oven or stove top — just a 2 burner hot plate). There is an antiseptic smell in the hallways. This experience taught us to be much more discerning in the future about what a property really offers.
Our stay at Vacation Village at Weston
The pool was over crowded and it was impossible to get a pool lounger. The pool area was too small for the amount of people staying at the resort. The parking was over crowded as well and we had to fight to use the washer and dryer on our floor and we had to fight to get a trolley to move our luggage the day we were leaving. The resort is clean but the pool area is way to small for the amount of guests using it and the resort is in the middle of nowhere. You have to have a car so you can go to the beach because you wont be able to use the pool .
