After the ground-breaking ruling passed by the Spanish Supreme Court in 2015, customers were refunded 40,000 euros and granted timeshare releases – after timeshares were mis-sold.
This ruling along with other major judgements have meant that customers are entitled to timeshare releases and claims against resorts such as Club La Costa under the following terms:
Selling timeshare contracts which ran for 50 years or more
Using high-pressure sales tactics on customers
Taking deposits off customers
Arranging finance on contracts, without observing the proper cooling-off period
In recent months there has been a ground-breaking ruling against Club La Costa in which a customer was given a full refund of the purchase price along with a proportion of maintenance fees, his contract was cancelled and he was granted a timeshare release.

Club la Costa Sierra Marina Reviews & Complaints
Club La Costa is actually a timeshare resort rather than a typical hotel and you will probably be asked to attend one of their sales tours. It gives you a chance to see the 5* apartments they have but they will give you the hard sell. If you are not interested in spending vast sums of cash with ongoing maintenance charges then make sure you tell them very clearly that you are not interested
If it’s your first time, you will likely be offered to attend a presentation as well. Thousands of people have done so, and if you wish to talk with them, then contact them at http://clcmembers.co.uk/
You will get lots of independent advice there as thousands of owners have been there and many still join it every month.
There are buses that run along the motorway below CLC and the bus goes into Fuengirola one way and Marbella the other. From Fuengirola, you can get the train along the coast up to Malaga City.
We always hire a car for ease of getting around and not worrying about timetables etc. Parking is free at Club La Costa and there are lots of car parks and parking spaces around all the local towns and cities. Although if you are intending to go to Malaga City for the day I would say get the bus into Fuengirola and then go on the train as parking in Malaga City itself is scarce.
Please be careful if you have to go to the timeshare meeting so many people have been ripped off. Surely the agent should have advised you of this I would be going back to them to ask these questions and if you are expected to attend
Sales Pitch at Club La Costa Sierra Marina
When I went to CLC at Fuengirola with my friend and daughter we went to the sales pitch to get the full English breakfast, we had a lovely look around some amazing apartments but kept telling the sales rep that we weren’t interested, it was too expensive and there was no way we would be signing up for anything.
He was a realist and understood and only mentioned costs etc when another rep was within earshot and at the end of the tour he dropped us back at our apartment and thanked us for our time. The same thing happened 20 odd years ago at another 5 star resort on the coast. We had a lovely nosey around, picked up 5000pstas and a free taxi to Puerto Banus. Again we had a rep who was realistic and knew there was no way we were going to buy. You have to be sure that you do not want to get involved and leave your credit cards in the apartment so you are not tempted at all.
The sales meetings rely on people being bamboozled by the great apartments and feeling that they can make use of them. Fact is you could never have enough holidays in your lifetime to make any of them worthwhile!
Beware the Sales Pitch
Stayed at CLC about 3 years ago. It is a timeshare resort but very nice. It’s about 2 miles out of town just past the castle then 1st left just past a BP petrol station on the main road! be careful not to miss the turn, when you come out you have to go right then over a bridge to return back into town. I’ve always used Malaga Car Hire and collect from the Airport. Used them 10/12 times and they are 1st class. Plenty to see and do in the area CLC have a few restaurants which are not to bad and some nice swimming pools, mind the timeshare sales pitch though!! Its worth the stay albeit out of town a little bit
