Access 2 Leisure Timeshare
I’ve been stung...
I myself have been ‘stung’ by access2leisure, to the tune of £3000 approx.
I would advise anyone that is approached in the street or on the beaches by these people to refuse to enter into any type of agreement with them.- and definately do NOT go into their offices which are situated in the Perluna hotel.
We also as reported in previous posts have been told that accommodation in hotels was ‘free’ only to find when we arrived there that all breakfasts and any food had still to be paid for.
We were also told that there would be holidays available to Northern Ireland, but have been unable to find any..
These people are out to rip you off.
From the moment you are approached in the street with the winning ‘holiday voucher’ ticket, to getting the hard sell later, you are being put under pressure to sign there and then. Every other ticket is a winner, just set up for couples.
Ask for the small print to take away and study with your timeshare solicitor and they will decline.
This is an expensive timeshare in another name.
Don’t bother to go through the talk for the free wine, it will be the cheapest plonk available.
Declined to upgrade
We were invited to change/upgrade our membership when at the Riza in 2010, we declined. In the course of chatting with the rep, we asked what termination of membership fee was (should we ever need to make the decision) and were assured it was only £350 plus any annual fee about to fall due. Yesterday, on enquiring how much this would be, as we haven’t made as much use of membership as anticipated due to flight costs/A2L accommodation availability/
Add-on costs for A2L accommodation elsewhere, etc we were astonished to be told £1000 is now the termination fee! Some jump!!! And no notification of this hike in cost has ever been conveyed to us, as members, in writing. Steer well clear of this company which appears to have a license to print money. We will HAVE to remain members and pay the annual fee, but we won’t be happy ones and will use bonus weeks for UK breaks but by Goodness, they had better be fully up to scratch, available when A2L say they are, and carry no extra hidden charges
I quite agree to steer clear of this company.
The only good thing for us is that we don’t have to pay an annual fee.
We paid £3900 as a one-off payment for 10 Yrs membership, but can’t get the dates we want.
We asked for 10days in October but were told that we could only have one week @ £179 and not £99 or £129 as we were told.
A friend in another hotel has told us that the Riza has been running half empty for a lot of the time, I wonder why?? The last few times we have gone to Malta to see family we have used Low Cost Holidays.Com. highly recommended. 10days this Oct £62 each studio apartment.
We still use the Riza pool if we need too. Got to recoup some of our money back somehow.
KEEP AWAY FROM DISCOVER ACCESS...
We fell for their talk in September whilst on honeymoon in Malta, they gave us £600 worth of travel vouchers so we signed a 10 year contract, one week after the first months instalment and we found out through ABTA the company we had to use the vouchers with have ceased trading, vouchers are no longer valid.
When the second instalment did not go out of our bank account, they demanded payment within 7 days when they did not receive the payment they have now passed it onto a debt collector in the UK, he had been constantly calling us and emailing and writing demanding payment within 7 days or he is going to make us bankrupt, discover access do not want to know, they told us they would sort out the vouchers and nothing has been done they have just passed it on to a no win no fee debt collector, who won’t even give us time to get legal advice, thankyou discover access for your great customer service NOT.
ANYONE ELSE OUT THAT HAS BEEN CONNED INTO THIS??? LET US KNOW.
We were scammed last year .
We paid with a credit card came home and contacted the Yorkshire bank credit card legal team.
We sent all document copies to them and also a cancellation letter to access2leisure.
We were told that we could cancel as it was within 14 day cooling.
Since then emails and phone calls from Daniels Silverman threatening to take us to court send in bailiffs and even make us bankrupt.
They have said they will take a settlement now of half the money.
The bank said access2leisure agreed on the chargeback and we have rights but the EEC have said as the company is unregulated and the contract is just a shade under a year they can sue us under terms and conditions !!! Any advice appreciated. Should we just pay the settlement?
