There has been a huge increase in complaints and timeshare release enquires in recent months from customers with Diamond Resorts.
Many concerns centre on the following factors:
If the contract with Diamond Resorts was sold “in perpetuity” or you were pressured into a contract with little knowledge of the implications then you can claim against the resort or a timeshare release on the grounds of mis-selling timeshare products.
If you believe you had a timeshare contract with Diamond Resorts and you wish to be released from your timeshare scheme & points, please contact one of our experts at Mercantile Claims or fill in the form below.
Hidden Gem
Riviera Oaks is a Diamond Resort (read: timeshare), so it has great amenities. Full kitchen, which has all your cooking necessities. We got a great deal (Groupon), and would definitely go back if we could get another good deal. Pools, spas, fitness center, tennis, etc.
The rooms are dated but are clean and have some updates, including newer appliances, and carpet.
The location is remote but well worth the drive. It is a quiet and peaceful place, not for partying, or loud kids, but it would be good for families if you can be respectful.
There is a (locals?) place not too far (Par Lounge) with live music on weekends. Also, lots of wineries, restaurants and brewery options around Ramona area.
Fill out your details below and we’ll get straight back.

Fantastically quiet and peaceful get-away location!
This is the place if you are looking for a peacefully quiet location in the outskirts of San Diego. Wonderful!
Ramona is a nice town with everything that is needed for the family and peace of mind.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Beautiful grounds, spacious rooms, and great staff.
Thanks Diamond Resorts Intl.!
Very nice resort
We stayed for a 4 day weekend in a ground floor, 1 bedroom unit (#651). It was very nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. Full-size kitchen, king bed in bedroom.
There was a small fireplace and we were given 1 “duraflame” type log/day.
It lasted about 2 hours, little heat but nice atmosphere.
Nice size pool and hot tube although we didn’t use it.
The fitness centre has a larger pool and hot tub with an exercise room.
As members of Diamond Resorts, we turned down the usual sales pitch.
Check-in/out was easily done with a very friendly staff member.
What was fun to see was the large flock of wild turkeys that roam the property and surrounding neighbourhood. We’ll be back.
Relaxing place
A nice resort.
The people who work here are very nice and helpful.
The only downside is the sale pitch by the Diamond people.
They are in a different part of the resort.
The resort is clean and the units are very comfortable.
I had to travel to Ramona to visit a client which does not have a lot of business class hotels.
The Riviera Oaks Resort was a nice surprise to find. I found out from talking to staff that this was originally built as a timeshare.
That explains why the hotel suites are exceedingly large and have the feel of a small condominium rather than a hotel suite.
The Master bedroom has a wall-to-wall closet with mirrored sliding doors.
There is a dining area, living room and full kitchen. I stay in hotels about 36 weeks out of the year and this was one of the best I have stayed in for the size of the suite.
Easy access to the town of Ramona.
The hotel is situated in a residential neighbourhood but it is well secluded in the way it was built and with the trees on the property that hides the roadway outback.
Generic timeshare
This was a last minute reservation so our preferred choices for the area were booked up.
The unit had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, and set up like a typical timeshare unit.
No complaints, but just very generic. Free Internet. The instant lighter didn’t work to light the fireplace log, so someone was sent very promptly.
I would have liked to have the log(s) already in the room so we didn’t need to go to the office to pick it up.
They did have a kind gesture of giving me some candy for my birthday. That was a nice touch!
PERFECT PLACE FOR RELAXING MOUNTAIN VACATION
Well, we stay few days in this quiet mountain place in Ramona for the first time, coming from Puerto Rico after 9 hours travel day and we enjoy the nice accommodation that offered this Diamond timeshare resort.
The place is near the Ramona city downtown, around 15 minutes in the car and also had the Barona Casino closely around 20 minutes from the resort.
The facilities are good, the room is small for our family of 5 but we really enjoy the stay and the resort personal treat my family very friendly.
The Pool was closed due to winter season but you should do some activities like us, that go to beautiful SAN DIEGO SAFARI PARK, wildlife adventure that my kids really enjoy and is around 30 minutes from the resort.
Also, the city had two to three good restaurants and older people should go to play at Barona Casino.
If you really wanted a quiet , relaxing place in the mountain area, this is the place but only stay no more than 4 to 5 days
Get away from it all
We booked the Ramona Oaks Resort and Racquet Club because we were looking for a resort that our timeshare points used and was within a day’s drive from Las Vegas where we were at a business conference. Ramona Oaks had availability and was just 5 hours away, so once we concluded the buying show we attended, we were on our way to the foothills of San Diego County.
When we arrived, we were greeted very warmly by the Ramona Oaks staff, and we were quickly checked in. We visited Rita at the concierge desk, and she offered a Diamond Resorts International owner’s update, which essentially becomes another presentation, but she was not pushy at all when we declined. In fact, she was very helpful with area attractions and restaurant suggestions, and was very thorough with directions to grocery stores, drug stores, and more importantly, wineries and breweries!!
The 1st floor rooms were nice… neither spectacular nor sparse. There were some obvious Diamond Resort touches showing up after their recent acquisition, including the super comfy beds, top notch flat screen TV’s, Cuisinart small kitchen appliances, iPod/iPhone docking alarm clocks, and more. The kitchen wasn’t large, but it was functional. The only real complaint I would have there were the knives – they were quite dull. Other than that, there were enough utensils, plates, etc., to fill most needs. Additionally, there was an infrared BBQ on the patio and 3 well-maintained gas BBQs near the pool area. We used the BBQs near the pool 3 nights, and they were very efficient.
The living room had the aforementioned Samsung smart TV, DVD player, a hide a bed/couch that is due for a change, a couple of nice chairs and a table. The Cable package is decent, so for those rainy days or quiet nights in, there is ample selection for those wanting to catch their favourite show.
The dining room table sat 4, and the set was in good shape and the room well lit. On the table when we arrived was a bouquet of flowers personalized to my wife and I. I’m not sure if it is reserved for timeshare owners or not, but it was a nice touch for sure.
The bedroom was very spacious and it too had a nice flat screen TV which came in handy to get the traffic reports in the morning in case anyone was city bound. The king size beds were the usual found in most Diamond Resorts, and I swear, I am going to get one of the same when my current mattress finishes its useful life. There was a large dresser and another small dresser, which combined with the insanely large closet – 12’ long – provided ample storage.
The bathroom had an odd layout, but it was large enough for 2 to get ready at the same time without bumping into each other. It might have been our bathroom only, but the bathtub had an odd slope at the opposite end of the spouts. It is hard to see though, and my wife almost went done from the angle. Be cautious of getting in and out of the shower/tub combo.
The pool area was kept very clean and the water temperature was quite comfortable. We never had a difficulty in getting a chaise lounge, and the umbrellas seemed plentiful as were the table/chair sets. The hot tub was very clean as well. They also have pool ‘noodles’ for use there, so the kiddos didn’t have to bring, buy, or rent those.
We did finally opt to take the owner’s update on the last full day there, and they gave us $100 and a future 2 night stay at one of their resorts (about a dozen to choose from) to listen to the presentation… which was kept at 60 minutes! There was discussion about vacations plans and whether or not our future needs included more points, but there was not a lot of pressure and we appreciated that.
We didn’t utilize any of their on-site activities as we had family there and we opted to tour the area’s sites instead. I will cover wineries, restaurants, and the local brewery in separate reviews.
All in all, it was a little different resort than we usually stay at – we like to be close to the beach – but it was still a quiet, relaxing stay. There were many friendly staff members, but Dawn and Rita were great to work with while we were there.
I would recommend this resort and would have no issues returning to Ramona Oaks.
